Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

No way OHailpin is in our best 22. Lets start shaping our team from now for finals. Kreuzer to have one more game for the Ants and then look out!
This is the first time he hasn't kicked a goal during a game since he has been back in the team. His presence in the forward line to allow Eddie, Garlett and Walker goals is enough to keep him in. When you throw in his defensive efforts tonight, he should get the call-up.

IN: Warnock, Henderson
OUT: Hampson, Jamison (if injured)

If Jamo goes out, Waite and Setanta should go back to cover Brown. O'hAilpin, if selected, will have a lot on his plate. Ruck duties, his forward gig and defending down back.

The love for OHailpin on this board for 7 years has been crazy! Love his passion but doesnt have the nous for this game despite being on the list for so long. Would struggle to get a game at any other club and that is why we couldnt get a trade for him last year. Makes ridiculous mistakes which will cost us games against the better teams.

Complete and utter tosh.

Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

O'hailpin had an average game today, Usually can take more marks and has better disposal.

Curnow seems to be brought in to soon, But if he feels better for the run and has confidence leave him in the team.

Ellard
was down on his usually work rate and looked like he couldn't get involved in the game.

Ins: Houlihan, Henderson
Outs: Ellard/Curnow, O'hailpin

Just listening to Ratts' presser, says that it looks like Jamo will be right to go, but doesn't know about Waite

Jesus.

Injury clouds over Jamo and Waite.

Not good. Glad it doesnt sound too serious though.

At least Bowers been in good form in the 2s. Poor guy might have to come in and play on Brown next week just to remind us how he can get tossed around by bigger forwards.

I couldn't disagree more and I'll leave it at that.

I think we rushed Curnow back too quickly.

Changes for this week:
IN: McLean, Henderson
OUT: Curnow, OHailpin

rrrrriiiiiiiiight...

Injuries will only provide opportunities. If Jamo (looked like a rolled ankle) or Waite miss, Henderson comes in forward and either Bower rerplaces Jamo or Setanta goes back onto Brown. We are fortunate to have replacements in form, with McLean ready to go, Houlihan on the edge and K closing.

Setanta on Brown works for me. Kruezer at CHF also works (if he comes back). Both big asks however.

Brown towels Bower who doesnt have the size to match. Reckon Browny would have done Jamison over (notwithstanding Jamos form) by way of workrate and pushing up the ground. Jamo is lacking a tank at the moment, and if he plays and the ankle isnt 100%, thats going to be a concern.

That said, we had an even contribution from the boys vs Port (Judd was quiet, and Gartlett had an out of charachter stinker for 3 quarters) so Im not overly concerned.

Still losing your CHF and (good shot at AA) FB is going to hurt.

Hoping they both come up.

Although from the rplay, it looks like Jamo rolled his ankle twice.

I only saw the one they kept on replaying later on in the match. Where the port player came down and took down Jamo and rolled his ankle at the same time.

Just depends on what the scans show... it is probably a light ligament strain instead of a tear

Nah mate he was limping big time before that.

All through the first quarter. Came off a few times for treatment.

He played the whole game injured, then reinjured the ankle again when then port player landed on it.

Id want him rested if in any doubt.

Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

Will Jamo be fit for J Brown?

Would be a massive out for you guys... Jamo has been absolutely mauling them this year.

Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

He should be...Ratts said he's fine and was more worried about Waite with either tight hammies or a groin problem.

Will be a good challenge for Jamo. We never seem to have our backline just right whenever we play Brisbane

Probably not 100% from what I saw.

Brown would burn him playing up the ground.

Jamisons engine isnt 100%. Reiwoldt senior worked that out earlier in the year after Jamison smashed him in the first half. Also, if Jamo is playing with an injury this exacerbates the problem.

I wouldnt be all that surprised to see Waite or Ohailpin get the Job.

Brown is the key.

This post is pretty mental.

Thought 'Ohailpin was excellent tonight bar a few silly typical mistakes, did so many great little roving manuevres - a real asset - there's noone like him (except Kreuzer).

Ellard was great as per usual.

Curnow will only get better.

Maybe Armfield out - but not sure who to bring in... Houlihan? Doesn't seem like a good swap. And not even that keen on Warnock for Hampson, may as well leave Hampson in to play against shit teams and pick up that confidence, showed glimpses of what he could do.

INS:
Henderson
Bower

OUTS:
Jamison (If injured)
Waite (If injured)

Otherwise NO CHANGES

Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

Was probably watching the game with blinkers on but Ellard needs to get his kicking in check in the 'Ants to allow for Tuohy and Houlihan to get a run. Harsh considering the conditions, but we had a long list of players using the ball exceptionally well, and errant kicking will get punished @ Etihad.

We'll get punished by more consistent teams if we don't get the balance right between class and grunt - I don't think Ellard provided much of either today.
Ellard's in and under work, his tackling was awesome
His goal at a critical moment of the game
His passing was better yesterday than usual but he did not get enough of it. Some of his entries into the fwd 50 were on the $ but the bloke at the other end of the pass did not latch on.
That one from the centre dot that went about 70m was pin point but caught them by surprise I think.
Curnow's shoulder took 1 knock in the 1st and he was done for the day. Should never have played and maybe needs to rest it again. We just cannot carry a winged man. Waite must stay in on form but out if injured. He is too important with long leads and strong marks. Just had a poor day and needs more discipline.
Jamo will decide his own fate.
Would want both Irish lads to stay in but they have strong players from the Ants wanting their spots
Army is on shakey ground-no question and I liked Hampson's effort
I hate the Bears after what we copped following Fev's move so I WANT TO CRUSH THEM
Hendo Kreuz Bower Brock Hoops Robbie all have their hands up. Certainly 3 are in our best 22 but it will be hard to squeeze all 6 in.
MC's job is getting harder every week due to a plethora of choices and I like that!

Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM

Is it just me or is O'hAilpin playing more and more like Earl Spalding. Love the way he smashes the packs and lets the little guys do their thing.
