Excluding games involving West Coast, this is potentially the most one sided matchup between any two teams in the league. We're a flat track dream
I heard Max Gawn talking last week about how many teams there are you can’t relax about playing and he specifically said that after the previous three games he’d now include North in that. I know today was disappointing but the three previous weeks still happened too. I’m not saying a win is likely - we are still undermanned, our recent record against them is poor, and they should be a class above - just that with Jy and Greenwood back there’s also a chance they can stretch the good aspects of today across more of the match and it isn’t necessarily going to be horrible.

It's fair enough in theory, but their outside run ****s us right up. Libba and Bont do a bit of dirty work and the rest of them reap the rewards provided by our lack of pace and inability to defend in transition. I'll still go as it's my obligation to do so, but this'll be the first game I'll be going to with certainty that we'll get smashed. I didn't even have that feeling in the lead-up to the Collingwood game. Hopefully though the boys give us something to cheer about even if it isn't necessarily a win.

OUT: Hall and Spicer
IN: Jy and Greenwood

Probably drop Bergman and Curtis instead.

I’d also move out Ziebell and McDonald and bring in Corr and Perez but club won’t make that call.

Don't see much love for Dawson? He had 25 touches and 10 marks today. Sure he warrants a call up given how poor our defence has been. Or are his papers already stamped?
He looked good the part I saw - passing the ball out of defence then running to get the next handball and send it further forward.

If the Dogs are serious, Bevo will stop him.

Bruce is going as bad as any of our players right now. Lost at FB, his knee has really done a number on him this late in his career.

Expect Jamarra and Cody to kick painful bags of 5 and 4 on us.
We all know what's going to happen. Dogs fans have been saying for weeks that Naughton has been struggling and should be tried in the back six. Bruce will go forward. And then the magic happens...

Jy and Greenie back should steady the ship a bit.

To fix the Hall situation, I suggest we move 👏 Tarryn 👏 back 👏 - he's got the pace and the skills to get some killer ball movement happening off half-back. He can continue to have the odd midfield rotation, but with Jy and Greenwood back, we won't need him there as much.

Bergman has looked alright this season, but Perez just played a good game, and Miller could do with a break, so Flynn gets an opportunity.

Wouldn't mind keeping Corr in if it means Ziebell takes a break, but I don't think that's going to happen.

We don't have like-for-likes to replace Spicer in terms of speed, but if Drury is tracking well enough to be an emergency, maybe he gets a second chance.

Howe and Lazzaro have both looked good for a couple of good weeks in the VFL, I could see one getting a call-up, at least as a sub.

Curtis should probably be dropped, but he's only been back one week, and there's only one week to go until the bye - might as well keep him for team consistency.

IN: Jy, Greenwood, Howe/Laz, Perez
OUT: Hall, Spicer, Corr, Bergman

FB: Lmac - Logue - Ziebs
HB: TT - McKay - Perez
C: Ford - Wardlaw - Scott
HF: Stephenson - Larkey - Powell
FF: Curtis - CCJ - Zurhaar
FOL: Goldy - Jy - Sheezel
INT: Shiels - Greenwood - Phillips - 2 of Tucker or Howe or Laz or Drury

Yeah honestly even though the guy is 196cm he’s best as like a third tall or even a flanker, provides genuine dash when he’s on song. Barely put a foot wrong last year and then they’ve resigned him to the lose-lose situation of being a lockdown key defender in the VFL. Was great to see him have some confidence and take the game on, absolutely toweled up the number 1 pick then had a lazy 25 and 10 marks. Difficult when he’d play a similar role to JZ and feels like they’ll never drop him.

Yep. JZ could do with a rest anyway IMO.

Interesting that everyone wants Hall dropped yet excited for Jy to be back.

This year per game:

Turn overs: AH 4.8 JS 4.5
Clangers: AH 2.3 JS 4.1
Score Inv: AH 4.0 JS 4.5
Inside 50: AH 3.5 JY 3.7
Not really apples to apples when Jy has on average more than twice the contested possessions and four clearances per game.

Aarons **** ups result in direct goals sailing back over his head, his handballs to players who are under immediate pressure result in goals the other way.

JS probably needs to head back to the scoobs.

Hall is no good mate. Costing us too much.

the old, but his **** ups cost us the goals is rubbish. If Jys turn over up the field is what results in the defense being under pressure then he is as mush responsible as Hall. A bad kick is a bad kick, it doesn't matter if it's in front of goals or coming out of defense.

What do you mean? Jy was not playing yesterday and Aaron was still a disaster. Stop dick riding him. He’s absolutely leaking goals and costing us momentum and scoreboard pressure. Im not Jy’s biggest fan either, he doesn’t start in front of ldu, phillips and wardlaw.

What I mean is expressed above. A turnover is a turnover. Sheezal had 7 Turnovers yesterday, yet he's our wonder child. Hall had 2. Scott has been our best player this year and he had a bad day with 7. Stevo was again a turnover merchant with 5. Maybe if these guys didn't turn it over so much up the field Hall wouldn't be under so much pressure.

As for dick riding did I say Hall played well yesterday? I did say during the week that his second half last weekend was excellent, which is something most people seemed to ignore.

A. Hall was an imposter in that first half. Set up that win for GW$ with some awful efforts not even worthy of vfl level. Must go out.
Should be an easy fix with either Sheezel or Thomas dropping back and providing better ball movement. Simpkin and Greenwood back in will allow us to do this.

Expect us to be with them for a few quarters but comfortably lose our 12th game in a row . And we still somehow arent the worst in the comp thanks to the tanking West Coast.
