You know I I’m never wrong about these things…Something is up alright
Someone has to bring some reality to the love festI must say

Goes without sayingYou know I I’m never wrong about these things…
Caminiti is 18 and had never played at the level let alone trained a pre season whereas Billing’s was back training within a month and and is supposedly a fully conditioned mature age body with 10 seasons under his belt. Many players of similar ilk come back within a game or two at VFL level. Let’s also remember he has played incredibly poorly at Sandy also so not becoming of a seasoned pro.I’ve pointed out the differences but I’ll do it again
Caminiti was fully fit and coming off a pre season with another club
Steele did a full pre season and did an injury that would have only affected his running for a week or 2 so would have lost little fitness
Billings missed 2 months with a fractured leg so he’s clearly going to lose some fitness in that time. He then did a hammy and is one game back.
There’s zero relevance in comparing him to those players
He's so far off the pace, I fear giving him a "run" could hurt him more than it does usI think it's time to give Peris a run.
Didn't look off the pace at all on the weekend in the VFL.He's so far off the pace, I fear giving him a "run" could hurt him more than it does us
I reckon he could be at sandy this week. The hammer is gonna kick 4 and get the rising star nom
You said similar about SharmanHe's so far off the pace, I fear giving him a "run" could hurt him more than it does us
Sharman getting picked as the sub most weeks because there is farg all players to choose from at Sandy wouldn't exactly be comforting to Sharman, even he knows where he's at. Woodville have already locked him away for next season. You said similar about Sharman
Wouldn’t play again so far of the pace
But is getting picked in the 23 most weeks
it's important when assessing a players ability to make it at AFL level to use the correct reference point, I say this with the greatest of respect to Sandy as a club as I have connections, but being the shining light in that side at the moment is hardly helping you punch into the AFL. A massive gap for the poor kid unfortunately and drafted by the past regime and will be delisted at season's end.Didn't look off the pace at all on the weekend in the VFL.
From what I saw on the weekend I'd be staggered if he is de-listed at the end of the year. He is playing forward pocket in a shit side so it's hard to look that good, but he can tackle, can kick and obviously has pace and has been finding the goals.it's important when assessing a players ability to make it at AFL level to use the correct reference point, I say this with the greatest of respect to Sandy as a club as I have connections, but being the shining light in that side at the moment is hardly helping you punch into the AFL. Someone has to bring some reality to the love fest
It's a bizarre world. We are 5th at round 14 and we are all wanting to burn the place down and I look like Mr Positive. I'm not sure there is much love fest going on at the moment.
If you think 20 plus disposal, 1 goal a game is incredibly poor (coming off an injury) then what is a the standard?Let’s also remember he has played incredibly poorly at Sandy also so not becoming of a seasoned pro.
We are not even close to being a top eight team on what we have seen lately. We fit very snugly in the 12-15 group with Sydney, GWS and Carlton.
Stirring the pot or genuine?Jack Peris will debut.

Pretty confident, hence the lock.Stirring the pot or genuine?
I for one would be happy to see some changes
I know, I know, I know but reality is that the whole league is really pretty shite. But for a glancing touch, the ball was back in the centre 10 points down having kicked 2 in a row and the home crowd up and about last Friday nightWe are not even close to being a top eight team on what we have seen lately. We fit very snugly in the 12-15 group with Sydney, GWS and Carlton.
Thing is though is that we started the season with an attacking game style.I hope we play with more freedom and dare. At the moment, the game style now looks similar to last year, push forwards to midfield and defence to win the ball, then move the ball forward but very safe and slowly. The only difference is early in the season we were able to pressure the opposition to force turnovers, and implement a good zone. But now that doesn’t work.
Personally I’d prefer we play like Hawthorn, take the game on, overlapping run and move the ball quickly to give our forwards a chance. Even if we lose, at least you can see a sustainable game style and identify which players to persist with. Then you’ll see King/Camaniti and our small forwards really come alive. Bring in Campbell to ruck, Marshall to CHB to provide an intercepting marking option. Marshall was playing as a defender/ruck in VFL when we drafted him. He is not a full time tap ruckman, training him for the last 4-5 years has not improved his craft much e.g. palming the ball directly to our mids or in the path of our mids.
Unfortunately, not sure Ross Lyon is an adventurous type of coach to change game style mid-season.
That’s interesting. Peris and Butler in the same forward line applying speed and pressure could be fun to watch against a team like WCE.Jack Peris will debut.
