RTB is vanilla as f*ck right now.

Says he doesn't care about ladder position but I'm not buying it.

No dare at all.

Over it. Turning into a bit of a sh*tty season. We're absolutely horrid to watch. Players don't need to play well to keep their spot.

We might scrape into finals but apart from the fact the young guys have shown potential, not a lot to like about the saints right now.

Our midfield is sh*t and we have a young bull potential gun midfielder who can't get a game there.

What a yawnfest

At least Windhager has kept his spot, I was worried he might get dropped after being a bit quiet last week against Brisbane.

A chance for him to really cement his spot with a big game against a weaker West Coast midfield, no need for him to tag in this game, just let him loose.

RTB is pumping the games into the right kids that have potential for us in Owens, Phillipou, NWM, Windhager, Caminit and Sharman.

He obviously doesn't rate Bytel that much if he isn't getting games and I don't rate him that much either, he could be thrown on the delisting scrapheap.

After keeping Tim Kelly to a grand total of 4 disposals in this game last year, while having 23 himself, I have a feeling he might get that job again.

He played one of his best games against them last year, it was one of those games where I thought wow we have a good player on our hands here.

Hoping he can produce something similar on Sunday.

Why would Ross do anything crazy when we’re 5th, halfway into the season and playing the bottom side. Play the best team possible, get the 4 points, move on.

Continue doing that until finals are no longer achievable and THEN you do exploratory stuff with the list.

Need the forward half to start kicking more goals basically- it's as much a problem as the midfield, but they are intertwined.

Agree but the forward half won't kick goals if the mids don't give them a chance. Like you said they are intertwined but I would have thought the issue was 70% mid 30% forwards.

It gets a bit annoying when people (Not you) harp on about our forward line not pulling their weight when our mids are giving them next to no good opportunity

Yep, though I think our scoring conversion rate for the times the ball is in the forward half is very poor compared to most of the comp, so something isn't working too well.

I agree with that and I think the number 1 culprit there is the fact we are bombing it into a crowded forward line and being predictable with our entry.

That comes back to not regularly being able to win clearance and when we do they are not quality clearances i.e. chest out to a leading player etc.

On top of that, our ball movement has gone stale recently too, and with that an increase in opposition intercept marks due to our predictability.

Get the Tigers on Cotchins 300th with their full contingent of "A" class mids available for probably the first time for the year, then get the Eagles on the rebound after the most embarrassing performance in their clubs history.

The scenario is so St Kilda.
Eagles have on the rebound after an embarrassing loss nearly every week this season.

I just can't help but feel uneasy about this game. Coming off the worst loss in their history with senior players returning, in fact probably their strongest team so far this year, I wonder what the chances are of them doing a Richmond where all their senior players pull one last good performance out of their collective @ss and get over the line. It's already ruining my weekend. 😄

Seriously if they **** this up, they may want to stay in Perth. There is no way on earth that we can afford to lose this.

Yeah, nah. Eagles haven’t looked too bad on paper the last few weeks. They’re stuffed. Chill dude. Saints by 287.

Hasn't Billings had just the one game back from a hammy or something? After all his injuries this year he'd still be building fitness, a bit early for such sweeping statements as the one above methinks.
It's pretty obvious that they're easing him back in. He didn't even play the last quarter in the reserves game. They're not going to fly him four hours to Perth for a game we should easily win without him.
Stamped or not there is no way he was ever playing this game off the back of an extended layoff.

He played very limited minutes for Sandy

Its round 15, must win game.... no time for easing him back him. He's got more skill on one leg than most of our players.

Could easily play him as sub with less chance of getting injured than playing 120 minutes at Sandringham.

I reckon he is gone, he's had his chance... time to give someone else a go.

Just put $100 on them @ $10 and relax 😎

If the goal is for him to play some meaningful football to end the season, letting him play a 2nd full game after returning from a hamstring injury seems the better move than flying him to Perth to sit on the bench for most of the game.

Burn the bus depots and anything that has tarmac for air if they lose it, they can all walk back to Vic and gain some conditioning and team bonding.

Not sold on us winning by a lot given our shizen forward third, but should still be comfortable.
