There wasn't much in it between the 2 sides at half time. It was tight and tough all night.

Not to make light of a player getting Injured but we looked better once Griffith's left. The guy is a total liability.

Umps were shit both ways. Wouldn't pay a HTB to us, until cotchins one on treloar which was high. Also I thought they were cracking down on throws? They seemed to give the benefit of the doubt on 50/50s, which I thought was what they were going to start paying.

Thought's on tonights game against the Pies:

Both teams were scrappy in the first half, if Pies kick straight then the result could of been closer margin wise or even a win to them. Ellis's goal in the third quarter on his left foot against the flow turned the game momentum wise for the Tigers and we never looked back.

Cotchin was good, Dusty was good, Rance was strong down back, Jack was ok and will improve as the season goes on hopefully.

The player id like to talk more about is the ruckman - Nankervis....i tell ya what hes got presence around the ground and took some crucial contested marks too against Grundy (Grundy played well) and his field kicking for a ruckman is good. He also plays with confidence as well which i like....he reminds me of Ivan Maric when big Ivan was in his prime.

Finally, as i said after the win against Carlton and i will say it again...tonights win against the Pies was a tough win and we did enough to win but lets not get carried away.....next week is round 3 and we play West Coast who are a good side, lets be happy for the win tonight but lets move on fairy quickly....the game against West Coast next week will be our first test this season.

Jayden Short quietly gained the most metres of any player in the game. Thought he was great. Genuinely good kick of the ball.

He screwed up one kick but generally it was a pleasure watching him mopping up and hitting targets cruising out of hb. He provides a cool head in D.
