Not sure if notice-able on tv but at the ground i was thrilled how quick he picked up the flight of the ball in the air, getting himself into the best position quicker than his opponent/s, and then composed navigating through a pressure situation. Glimpses ❤️
Didnt come across on tv at all, he always just seemed there and about, and following rowell for a bit?

Just watching the replay now it's on the afl app.
Darling holding off 2 blokes, 1 on each arm, after almost collecting the half volley mungral, to then give a little soccer tap on to the run of ryan and Duggan, actually made me giggle out loud.

Couldn’t watch live

Spent 15+ hours in a car today driving home from Karratha

Not long finished watching a replay

General notes
• Crowd might have been a touch low at 38k but the ones there were immense. Sounded like a +50k crowd. If you were there, give yourself a pat on the back
• Rowell gets some ridiculously soft frees and not penalised nearly enough for holding onto the ball in a tackle
• Yeo’s reaction to Duggan’s goal was all time
• Slightly concerned that Edwards stayed on the ground after that collision only to ruled out later. Surprised King was cleared but he played out the game ok so maybe he was all good. Won’t be surprised if he gets ruled out with delayed concussion during the week
• Commentary was surprisingly decent given it was Dwayne. Quite liked Mooney
• Great to see Jarrad Schofield get a win as coach. Regardless of what happens in the future it would’ve been a shame for him to go winless
• The physicality of our tackles was a sight to behold
• The play that started in our D50 with a Ginbey spoil of King and finished with a mark and goal to Waterman was brilliant
• Nice to get a come from behind win
• Might still finish 17th if North beat us next week but should be safe from b2b spoons now

Individuals
• Ryan had a solid game. Helped setup a couple of goals and got one himself. Took a nice defensive mark too
• Waterman keeps clunking marks and kicking goals. Deserves a renegotiated contract. Do not trade
• Hunt I thought had more impact than 13 disposals would suggest. Surprised he only had that many
• Yeo did a lot of grunt work. So important to Reid’s development
• Ginbey was immense and surprisingly good overhead against much taller opponents. Has found his niche in the side for the time being
• Reid will be a force of nature with a couple of preseasons under his belt. His natural aggression is something we have lacked for a long time. The handball to Yeo from centre clearance which set up Darlings goal in Q1 was sublime
• Kelly was our best mid. Especially his ground ball gathers. Leading possession getter on the ground
• Nice to see Allen clunk some marks and get a couple of goals. Outstanding pass to Dewar
• Duggan played a proper captains game and stood up when it mattered most in the last quarter
• Hough had his hands full with Long and despite losing a couple of aerial contests had a solid game down back
• McGovern helped hold the defence together in the second half.
• Johnston was the best of the young crop. Really like his composure
• Darling was immense. Don’t know where that game came from but would love to see more of it. Some absolute bone crunching tackles. Only blemish was his shank from 35m out. Play like that more often Jack and nobody will complain about you in the side
• Jack Williams is fast becoming a favourite. He’s a lock for the forward/ruck spot in the side for the foreseeable future
• Maric continues to build as an effective wing/hhf
• Thought Hall and Trew had some nice moments. As did Dewar, especially in the 3rd when he got on the end of a couple of outstanding passes whilst also getting involved in a few other passages

Great win and something to build on over the last 3 games that will help shape our preseason

Great summary. I thought Gov looked to be playing sore early but his contribution later was immense and highly courageous. I muted the commentary, but you could feel some of the tackles. JD's in particular.

Only watched the full replay last night but loved Kelly’s game. Showed what a good contested groundball winner he can be and the Suns didn’t have any answers for him.

Also thought BBW had some nice moments getting involved in link-up play despite being well beaten in the ruck.

Darling playing high up the ground and focusing primarily on playing a hard running and tackling defensive role could be his future in the team. His workrate was outstanding and he gave us some great drive off the wing.

Maric doesn’t get a heap of it but does some sublime things, such an intelligent player. Him and Johnston on opposite wings is exciting for the future

(Occassional) Winners are grinners...!!
Is that Cole with the middle finger? A bit concerned with what looks like a surgical glove on Maric's hand?

Some of Reid’s forward handballs were awesome on Friday, just placed them perfectly in front of the player running forward and set up our ball movement so well.

It wasn’t just this game either - I’ve seen this from him several times this year. Another elite trait to add to his list, he really is the complete package

Big positive is that Duggan actually found some confidence and belief in himself with that run with multiple bounces setting up the goal... And then just willed the side over the line... When our other mids were tiring

Negative is the hedwards injury... Although when he was on... He was getting slaughtered... Doesn't seem to be able to keep up on the lead.... Undersized ginbey was good

Oh yeah.... Old song two big ticks... Retro jumper medium tick
I like Harry Edwards, I think he can make it. But he's too reactive. Waits for his opponent to make a move and then responds. On a decent opponent that's too late. He needs to develop his positioning and anticipation. I'm guessing he's so intent on his opponent that those two attributes get ignored. If he can develop them he can become the player his abilities suggest he might be.

Reuben pointer finger kinda merging with Maric's hand on TC's shoulder. Does look weird though!

Was at the game, great seats, full strength beer and a great win. First one with the missus so now she loves it.

After watching replay a couple of things confirmed from watching live and on replay.

Rowell gets absolutely looked after by the umps. At stoppages he instigates holds by grabbing a player, TK, Reid, most often. grabbs arms, wraps his arms around them and just as the ball is being bounced he pulls away with his arm stretched out like he is being held and gets an off the ball free. He does most of the holding. Gets an eternity to dispose of it when in a tackle as well.

Kelly has amazing ball skill while gathering it, his loose ball gets are a site to behold. Couple of WTF disposals but generally was just class.

Reid also has amazing ball skill but unfortunately he too often looks for a contest when he can get out unscathed and is now getting caught more often. He is a bit of a mix between Yeo and Kelly.

Hunt works so hard off the ball using his closing speed to put pressure on the oppo disposal. As Key's said his impact seemed more than 13 disposals and this is why.

Once Darling got that early mark you could tell he was on. His pressure and tackling was at another level, where has it been??

Ginbey has his position sorted finally, even got 2 votes in golden fist WTF!!

Clay didn't get a lot of it but got involved, pressure etc

HJ, wow. Why hasn't he been playing if he can bring that. A must to stay in the side if he keeps delivering that.

Gov immense when it counted. He was still sore but still put his body on the line.

Forward line functioned, finally.
Was up going to the toilet just before 3qtr time and got to the bar just in time to scream THE LOOSH!!!!

Duggan, captain game. What more can you say, you all saw it.

Oh finally, full strength beer 😁😁 Unfortunately still using paper cups for some reason when there are Aluminium ones available in the standard seating areas. Doesn't make sense.

WTF, the trains. OMG sort it out. Lining up with hundreds of people to be told to enter from the front doors only and move to the back of the train. Then when half full they open all the doors up. Chaos.

flipping GREAT NIGHT!

Oops, nearly forgot. Trew shows enough to be held onto. At least another year to cement a spot and show he belongs.

How could I leave out Oscars pass to Dewar. Most others would have blazed away but what he did just electrified the place and when Dewar converted, well, it stayed electrified.
JW is going to be immense, already showing some massive signs.
