Watching the replay, the Arms out 50 is exactly why fans hate umpires. They're shooting themselves in the foot by getting precious over stupid shit like this. When we need more umpires at all levels, why on earth would you introduce something to make them more disliked?!

The impact will be it will highlight and accentuate even further the really stinky decisions they make

3 or 4 of their goals came from 50m penalties. Plus they got one from a free kick reversal too. Don't get me started on the staging ones. They are f*n cheats.
Don't think he watches matches properly just what his own side is doing. If he did he would had a plan to stop Sicily who killed them. Dropping the tag on Mitchell was a critical error also because he ran riot in the 2nd half and they had no answer to it. Felt he was being a bit dismissive of how we played but that's ok were already ahead of Geelong when it comes to the premiership window and he doesn't realise it yet.

Oh come on. So the other 3 quarters mean nothing? He wasn't their worst in the last and it hardly had anything to do with Omeara. I'm sorry, but Omeara should be more than a defensive forward, which he doesn't do well at.
He didn’t play defensive forward for the first 3 qtrs. He was given a role in the last and did what so many others can’t or won’t do - sacrifice their game to nullify the oppositions key playmakers. We have very few players willing to do what Shiels and O’Meara are doing - cutting the opposition off at the knees when given a job. This allows the younger players to have a lick of the ice cream.

If you can’t see it, I can’t help you.

I don’t like booing a triple premiership Hawk.

Smith will not win shit at Geelong and in 10 years no one will remember he even went there.

Hawthorn are on a new and different path now and he is not part of it - his loss.

But he is a triple premiership Hawk and should be respected. Just my opinion.
bad decision choosing Geelong

had the choice to go to Melbourne win another flag and be applauded by the Hawks

you don't choose to go to Geelong or Essendon if you are a Hawthorn player of note, without consequences ...there's 15 other clubs to choose from

Shit ML got man handled without being rewarded , 3 times his opponent isn’t even try to pretend to have eyes for the ball yet no call .

kid would have been frustrated
And he kept fighting and competing all day.

Big part of our win.

HOW GOOD BEATING THESE campaignerS???

Lol.

Good old Isaac. Reckon he felt a sliding doors moment today as the Hawks future looks bright. He could have been stayed the course but he ducked out...
I rekon he would be happy for us TBH. He went to Geelong to sneak another flag but if it doesn't happen full respect would come our way. I will still boo him for theater of it all regardless.

Called it this morning. This team believes that if they don’t give up then they can win these types of games.

Kept fighting to claw back the lead and then didn’t withdraw to stalling for time once we got it. Just kept looking to extend on the momentum.

Hugely impressive to do this without a genuine ruck after QT. So many young players stepping up and also older players delivering on what they should be.

Thought Worpel responded well after he came on. Still some mistakes but not out of place given the heat and conditions. But loved his defensive desperation. Diving to smother and tap balls on to advantage. Form can fluctuate but effort is always well within control. Can’t fault a player giving their all at all times.

JOM didn’t have a great day today but he nullified Stewart when the game was in the balance and Stewart had dominated all day.

I know people want their moneys “worth” from JOM whatever that means, but the constant weekly bashing of him is so tiresome. He’s first picked so he’s obviously doing what’s being asked of him

How about everyone who blatantly takes a tumble has to do a double pike off a ten metre platform at the closest olympic pool? They could charge a gold coin donation for attendees with all proceeds to go to the umpires end of season footy trip
With no water in it.

So what was he doing for the first 3 quarters then? Bugger all obviously.

Stewart still had 6 touches and 3 intercept possessions in the last, so wasn't like he took him right out. Sorry you're not gonna convince me he deserves a spot after 5 pretty ordinary games, so we'll leave it at that. Plenty of players in the vfl who'd sacrifice their game to just be a defensive forward.... and probably do it better.

Probably just want more from our acting captain. He doesn't have to get 30 touches every game, but he has to make some impact. So far after 5 rounds he hasn't. He had 1 tackle in game where the focus all week has been about having more aggression, more desire. He is being saved by being captain. If he wasn't then he would have been dropped.

Poor kid was knackered, you could tell he was out of gas in the last quarter but just kept giving his all.
Love his endeavour and his fitness will get better.
His disposal is generally poor, kicking wise. If you watch, he kicks long more often than not.
He knows it’s a deficiency and working on it

We're currently 17th in the comp for total clearances.

18th for centre clearances.

But we're 5th in the comp for contested marks and 2nd in the comp for intercepting.

And despite being 15th for shots on goal, we are 2nd in the comp for Goal efficiency.

If we start winning centre clearances, look out.

If we start winning centre clearances we’ll probably lose our #2 intercepting spot though!
