O’Meara is our current captain for a very, very good reason.

He shut down Stewart as a defensive half forward and, with Shiels as the run with on Dangerfield, they basically nullified Geelong’s best two players of the last 5 years.

What’s O’Meara and Shiels offer defensively is absolute gold.

Seriously. Have a rest.
Stewart respected JOM enough to be accountable to him. We didn't just put anybody on him otherwise he would have still did what he pleased. Had to be someone that would have an impact if not shown enough respect.

Is this Chris Scott’s most spoken line “I don’t want to take anything away from the opposition, BUT..”

I also like how our expectations of Harry Morrison have risen due to his great form, to the point where a 21 disposal, 9 mark and 2 tackle game from him is 'slightly down'.

I don’t like booing a triple premiership Hawk.

Smith will not win shit at Geelong and in 10 years no one will remember he even went there.

Hawthorn are on a new and different path now and he is not part of it - his loss.

But he is a triple premiership Hawk and should be respected. Just my opinion.

Happy with Worpel's response today when he came on...apart from one where he just needed to clear the last defender with a kick for an easy goal...and dropped it short for an intercept mark.

Watching the replay, the Arms out 50 is exactly why fans hate umpires. They're shooting themselves in the foot by getting precious over stupid shit like this. When we need more umpires at all levels, why on earth would you introduce something to make them more disliked?!

Scott in his presser made it sound like they dominated the game after the first 5 mins. Mate you had 1 more clearance and 3 more scoring shots which is probably attributed to Reeves not being there the last 3 qtrs. We had more possessions and won CP comfortably. Think he is in denial about the state of where his mob is at. They will play finals you would think but this team isn't winning a flag. Too much reliance on the top 5-6 players on their list. We shut down 2 of them today and look what happened.

Shut Stewart down? Stewart had 27 touches and 9 intercept possessions. Was named Geelongs best today and he was. As for Shiels, well I didn't even mention Shiels and have no issue with him being in, so odd comment.

And for someone who was apparently great defensively in a offensive role, he had 1 tackle for the game. He is the acting captain, but Sicily is the real leader on field. I'll have a rest when you wake up.

Agree RE the booing. Not necessary. However in not much of boo-er unless it’s for something egregious.

Last qtr big fella. That’s when Stewart went quiet and we won the game. 🤷‍♂️

It is just another case of afl heads living in a fantasy land. To think that an off camera, away from the ball gesture towards the screen somehow leads to umpire abuse at lower levels is complete nonsense. Have they looked at what is happening in the crowd when they pay one of those fifties? kids are just going to grow up thinking umpires make the game fundamentally unfair and won’t likely hold back from abusing umpires because the afl are making them the absolute centre of everyone’s frustration. 🤦‍♂️

We're currently 17th in the comp for total clearances.

18th for centre clearances.

But we're 5th in the comp for contested marks and 2nd in the comp for intercepting.

And despite being 15th for shots on goal, we are 2nd in the comp for Goal efficiency.

If we start winning centre clearances, look out.

3 or 4 of their goals came from 50m penalties. Plus they got one from a free kick reversal too. Don't get me started on the staging ones. They are flipping cheats.

It's really the only way your going to quell his influence. Surprised if other teams don't follow suit. He isn't just an intercepting defender what he does impacts how everyone else structures up. He is top 3 for importance up there with Danger and Hawkins. Taking him out of a game gives you a better chance at winning.

Oh come on. So the other 3 quarters mean nothing? He wasn't their worst in the last and it hardly had anything to do with Omeara. I'm sorry, but Omeara should be more than a defensive forward, which he doesn't do well at.

Gotta say, props to Isaac Smith in the last 40 seconds of the game, to have the composure to slow the game down with that free kick, to secure the win for the Hawks.

Well played.

Lol.

Good old Isaac. Reckon he felt a sliding doors moment today as the Hawks future looks bright. He could have been stayed the course but he ducked out...
