I’m a Billings hater from way back but he’s easily best 22 ahead of a few others. Billings, Higgins, Butler, King, Membrey & Marshall/Ryder/Hayes is a deadly fwd line.

Billings > Wood
Jones > Windy
Webster > Lienert
Ryder > Hayes
Clarke > Long

Wang for mine stays in. He offers a point of difference & is improving every week. Harsh on a few outs especially Long (one of my favs) & Hayes. But the above changes clearly improve our 22. Won’t matter anyway cos we will always have a few best 22 out injured.

Gutsy effort from Marshall today he wasn't 100% . I think he enjoys being the main man
He’s such a gun and he’s one guy on our list that you can never question his ticker.

Big game player and my personal favourite on our list.

I want Clark in the team, but I'm not sure Long deserves to be dropped right now. The rest of it makes sense, but I just can't justify dropping Long when he's basically doing everything right.

We got a steal with Higgins, he was the most talented of the Richmond small forwards, a lot of Richmond supporters weren't happy they let him go.
It's amazing we ended up with Higgins and Butler and they kept costagna and rioli. Certainly know which two I would want from those 4

It's funny, I don't see Billings as bad or as good as he gets labelled by people.
The best way I can describe him is 'reliably vanilla'. He does coast on the reputation of that Bulldogs game lol, but he's not nearly as bad as some people suggest. He's not a game breaker 99% of the time, but it's not rare for him to pick up 25 - 30 possessions under the radar.

I think he's best 22 still. He's not a superstar, but he is a good player. He's not the guy we thought he'd be, but that's okay.

A lot of his play goes un-noticed.

a) Un-noticed can be bad ( he didn't do anything ) .
b) Or good ( he did a fair bit but didn't stuff up anything enough to draw your attention )/

Billings is mostly type b

I probably would have agreed with you 3 weeks ago. Very hard to drop him based off Richmond/Hawthorn/Gold coast

Was very good today. Especially in close. His tackle (third quarter?) shifted momentum too. They

Being at the game today I thought Long was good, havent watched replay yet
Long was solid today but Webster will come back in and take his spot in the back pocket I'd imagine and Long will go forward where we seem to have an abundance of small forwards.

He’s been very good the past two weeks. But he’s still 23rd/24th best IMO. Clark will need a fortnight in the rezzies anyway.

Marshall is a star if given the opportunity to play his best role as the number 1 ruckman , to me his development has been hindered by us getting Ryder who still is one of the best in the AFL , over the long term Marshall will benifit from his time with Paddy but it's good to know Marshall is ready to take over the mantle as the main ruck and by the looks we have a good kid in Heath showing up in the 2s.

Good win, got it done, think we will need more run in the last quarter against better opposition. Would hope Connolly and Byrnes are seriously looked at for inclusion next week.

Higgins, Sinclair, Steel and Crouch :thumbsu:
I am a big Byrne's fan but at this stage he has not improved from last year what so ever and is lucky to be the injury sub

Liked Long's game a lot tonight. Probably a better offensive game than Paton has played all year. Will have to watch the replay to pay closer attention to their defensive stuff throughout the game. He's making himself very hard to leave out now. I really liked the role he played against Richmond and Hawthorn as a pressure forward. Will be interesting to see what they do with Webster back next week.

And he's basically only ever played in ordinary teams under an absolutely terrible coach. Let's see what he's like in a functional football team.

Yeah like Hill he is the icing on the cake, now we have baked the cake he could be really dangerous.

Jones had 8 touches in the first quarter alone, he will be back next week bookmark it. Straight swap for Windy.
