Well done fellas. Resilient when it mattered. Should have sealed it a long time before, but hopefully that unbelievable win propels us to greater heights.

Seems like 3 injuries - hopefully Slyce and Ebo come back in. May not miss Mots that much given his form the past few games, but Burton and Rozee will be critical. Maybe MG. Or Rocky (yipes) the other in.

Would like to rest Boak and Hoff as the timetable is getting them down a bit, but would be too many changes, so probably just the three outs next week.

LOL ken in the presser.

"Never in doubt....especially when Toddy misses one from the goalsquare."
"....glad that's over."
"...pretty ******* brave win though"
"whoops hope that one isn't on the record."
Is it just me, but are Ken’s pressers becoming slightly (just) more watchable this season?

He's winning. It's different. His problem has always been insanely poor pressers when we lose.

So, my new missus came along to her first AFL game (she’s Canadian) and had to put up with all my emotions at the Gabba today.

Seemed right that we were in line with the kick by Robbie. She got to see more emotion then that is for sure.

Oh and apparently she is staying with me after that exhibition, last relationship test passed , she’s a keeper 😁
I did a similar test 17 years ago. We are still together, with kids and pets. Good luck!

Credits to a few of the players that stood out to me:

Jonas - absolute beast and unlike others in recent years has grown as the responsibility of sole captain was thrust upon his shoulders. Great leader and having a great season.

DBJ - in All-Australian form and I really hope he keeps it up and gets some deserved recognition come seasons end. Runs both ways, poised with the ball, plays like a veteran, IS a veteran for us now.

Ladhams - If he grew a gun moustache and didn't go blonde I wouldn't have known it wasn't Lycett. Dominant ruck performance and was still able to make quality contributions when the ball hit the deck. He is putting some genuine pressure on Westhoff's position in the team now, and the only question is if he can do enough up forward with Lycett in the side to enable playing the two of them. It's no longer a disaster when Lycett needs a week off however because big Peter can do the job.

Marshall - he will unfortunately be remembered today for his dismal miss with a minute to go but his game before that moment was good I thought. Lead towards the ball up the ground quite well, took some marks and had 12 kicks of pretty good disposal. Needs to hit the scoreboard more, but I didn't think he was a passenger today. He made space for Dixon leading out which is half his job really. Westhoff and that third tall forward position are the ones with the question marks, and whilst Westhoff was an absolute ghost today he did take a couple marks in the final few minutes so whether his position is better suited down back with Burton out, we'll see.

Butters - became my all-time favourite player today. The next Robbie Gray. Plays like a 200-game veteran with his guts, class and composure. Will be an absolute pleasure watching him for years to come.

Couldn't watch that last kick. Didn't want that feeling again if he missed. Got a bit pumped when my lads were screaming he's kicked it. Robbie fnken Gray.

I walked out in a huff after Carlton won the ball with about 2 minutes left and went to the loo so I missed Butters goalline save and Todds miss. Walked back in as Robbie was walking back to take his shot. My lad was all "Carn robbie, you can do it" I think I went "don't get too excited son, he never ki.......OOOOOHHHHH MY ****ING GOD HES KICKED IT AHHHHHHHH"

I’m pretty sure every Port household had this exact same experience .

My initial thought was that it was falling short.

Didn't like his stubborn response to the question re forwards getting in each other's way. Suggesting Lynch and Dunstall are uneducated when it comes to forward craft is a bit rich.
