Re: Round 13 Trades

Probably no trades this week. I have 9 left but I am happy with how it is going at the moment, Martin is still making me money in the center so I'll hold him for a little longer I think.

Re: Round 13 Trades

No trade. My issue (like others) is the backline, with Goose, Schmidt and Webberley. Looking at the results, I'd say Schmidt is a fair chance to come in for the Crows, but I'll take a zero in the backline, rather than use another trade at this stage.

Re: Round 13 Trades

How long will Maguire be out for? I heard 2 -4 weeks but I did here something about a staff infection on top of that.

I'm hoping Hargrave comes back this week but even if he doesn't I have the cover should Sheppard hold his spot on the WCE team.

Shaw will be one I have my eye on ina couple of weeks. 4 points in a half of football means he'll fall to around 350K until he plateaus again.

I'm playing 3 easy teams over the next few games so I may just hold onto them all and hope they all return by Round 15.

Re: Round 13 Trades

I have been keeping an eye on Heath Shaw for the last month, but on the evidence he's showed, I'm second guessing whether I even want him!

Re: Round 13 Trades

He got 67 SC points in a half after Lynden Dunn did an excellent job on him in the first half.

I'm happy with his 71, after his 4 at half time.

Yeah, but that's like saying you're happy losing by 20 points when you were down by 50. It's still a poor result.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Just glad I didn't get Gysberts. Started on the bench today. Did nothing in Q4. I reckon theres a chance he'll be dropped.

That'd be an awful way to treat your young kids, dropping them after their biggest home & away game for the season.

Even Jack Watts didn't get that sorta treatment. :D

But still, Gysberts will be a good cow. Only got 23 this week, but should get back up to good scoring again.

If I was the Melbourne coaching staff, I'd give him another game, get games into the young kids, as any rebuilding team should. Then again, I'm not part of the Melbourne coaching staff...

Re: Round 13 Trades

Getting Chappy this week because he will never be this cheap again.

Am seriously considering trading Brown for him. Would break every rule in my book, but none of my other forwards or injured nor are they playing such that they deserve to be traded.

Can someone explain how the split round works? Do we still have 2 trades, or 4, and can we use both at once or not? I'm a bit confused on it.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Similar injury concerns to many - Goose, Brown, Davis (up forward).
Defence has been good, but young- swapping between Nason, Webberly and Silvagni (and Goose) has been (mostly) fine up to now, but can't keep it up forever.
Also exposed in the forwards. Not a lot in the bank either, and a couple of bad early choices sitting on my bench not making me any cash (You know who you are JKT & Relton Roberts ).

Will need to do a double trade at some stage- may just hold fire until after the split round and cop what I cop on the chin- unless a cheap downgrade option presents that will let me build up the war chest a little.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Not worth trading Brown out, will miss 2-3 games probably 2, and i have Gumby cover.

Maguire however is a concern, i can get literaly any defender except Lake.

5 Trades left defence looks like:
Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Gilbee, Malceski, Hargrave, Maguire ( Sheppard, silvagni )
160k in the bank worth upgrading? if so to who?

Re: Round 13 Trades

Now that Brown is going to be out for a month, I might consider trading after I wasn't going to.

Brown > Chappy?

Last year we just had the lockout on the first Friday night, and was pot luck with the team selections in the 2nd week. Not sure if they'll go the same way or use the partial lockout feature employed in week 1.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Thinking ill go -

Howlett -> McNeil
Brown-> Buddy

Or none at all and have Gumby play for a couple. My only real concern is that im worried how soon it is until Brown is actually back. 2 weeks ago Vossy said Brown was fine, a week later, a late withdrawal and out for 3.

I'm still reasonably comfortable with trades (7 left) and my team is complete so could be a make or break week.

Re: Round 13 Trades

was going to go rockliff > chappy

but with rockliff's form and his price currently rising might wait another week, think il hold onto brown, don't have any cover though, got playfair and lobbe on the bench.

maybe brown to chappy? most likely not, then would be stuck with fyfe and rockliff,

so in summary, haha, no trades this week, next week will go rocklif > chappy

Re: Round 13 Trades

Does anyone know what's happening with the split round? Will we have another partial lockout so we can make trades inbetween the two weekends?

Anyway, I have Brown and Higgins sitting in my forward line with only the [poor] cover of Griffiths which means I'm facing a 0 this round. I've got 5 trades left and a complete team. Should I trade one of them out for Franklin? Or just conserve my trades, cop a 0 and continue to fall down the rankings for the next few weeks.

The summary on Brown is that he was at 90% for a few weeks but his injury had stopped improving, so he gets a month or so off to try to get him to 100%. I suspect he'll be in after the split round, maybe the week after that tops.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Hmm, hypothetical..

Trading Higgins out as Gumby will look after JB and have 482k to play with.. looking at

Waite at 466k avg 90
Varcoe at 417k avg 93
Betts at 388k avg 88
Boomer at 418k avg 91
Stevie J at 436k avg 90

seem to be the best options at the moment

7 trades remaining.

Re: Round 13 Trades

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Gibbs, Cross, Deledio, Barlow (Stevenson, Shuey)

Rucks: Sandilands, Trengrove (Hille, Warnock)

Fwds: Pavlich, ROK, Buddy, Gia, PODS, Murphy, Rockliff (Brown, Playfair)

Re: Round 13 Trades

Purrfect outa those four guys I would say the best choice would be Grimes... Dont think the other 3 are consistant enough

Not eye popping options but maybe Shaw is the best but probably more inconsistent. Grundy is falling away a bit, Carrazzo tags alot and Grimes turns it over a fair bit which is sad because I really rate him.

What do you think about my dilemma??
