That’s not good enough. Every club doctor in the afl would have done one.
I was 5-6 beers deep and have no medical experience whatsoever and it was pretty clear to me, and everyone else watching that he needed a proper HIA.
Flabbergasting that a trained professional would risk their professional integrity and can come to the conclusion that an assessment wasn't needed. You would have to think he was under some sort of pressure to allow him back on the field so quickly.

You must have missed both Milera and McAdam warmly embracing Tex at least 7 times throughout the match, yeah? I’d say if they’ve forgiven him, perhaps you should too?
You had a lot of options as to how to reply to that post and you picked the absolute worst one. **** off racist apologist. I hope you feel like shit about the type of person you are, because you should.

Don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist…

But I can’t see how a doctor, whose job security has no relation to the performance of the team would make the decision to send Aliir back on.
I just think that football staff had to be involved in this decison, as Aliir is probably our most important player.

Coincidentally, who is the most senior person at the club and where does he sit on GameDay…
if it was cam oshea they would have never allowed him back on

Ken said he had no say whatsoever in the decision.

If a stretcher comes on the ground, the player who the stretcher has come out for, goes to be off for 20 minutes - for 2 reasons, health of the player and stop coaches like Blight did, using it to slow down the momentum of the game, when its not really needed. So now you rarely see a stretcher come on.

At some point this year, the AFL has said to the umpires, without telling the public and media, you are going to stop the game until the player has been taken off by the trainers, probably because coaches/medicos don't want players off for 20 minutes if they use a stretcher and if the player shakes off their knock/injury after a few minutes.

Its not that hard to have an independent doc / official say, ok this looks like a serious head knock, the player is off for 20 minutes. The club doctor can still look after the player when he is off. Gets rid of so much grey area and they can do a HIA + SCAT5 test in that 20 minutes.

Honest Ken LMAO
Look, you can blame Ken for whatever you want but he isn’t the devil incarnate. Every bad thing that happens is not related to him or his fault ffs.
This is on the doctor. He made a wrong decision, has apologised and neither Aliir nor Jones will play next week.
Doctors make wrong decisions all the time in highly stressed situations unfortunately, in fact all people do.
The doctor has to live with his decision.

Ken said he had no say whatsoever in the decision.
Yeah sure he didn't.

"Will no one rid me of these troublesome concussions?" - Ken Hinkley, probably

I wonder if these crows supporters showing concern for our players had the same concern when their players were tormented in the off season camp.
We did and were calling for sacking of anyone who allowed the camp to be run by non-trained "psychology" experts. And were doing it consistently calling for it.

We also have had an AFLW Premiership player take her life due to CTE.

All fans want players looked after.

i got concussed once, all i remember is seeing the knee just before it hit me in the head, i played the rest of the game but i cant remember anything else after that.

Tom Browne reporting that the AFL put both players in the protocol not the club

If true, if, you’d think Fisher is about to be thrown under the bus.

The decision not to test was so obviously not allowed within the rules, it’s hard to know what went into that choice.

Whether it’s Fisher’s fault or not you’d think he is going to be the one thrown overboard

Independent, unaffiliated doctors coming soon

Just a reminder, this is not a points scoring exercise at club, supporter or coach expense. Keep to the topic, this is serious.

Not sure taking shots at opposition supporters in this thread expressing concern is really the way to go.
Fully understand that some may have an element of trolling but on the whole I think most people are concerned about players wellbeing.
Seems that the club has handled this whole thing pretty badly and I reckon there might be a job vacancy for a club doctor pretty soon.

Some of them absolutely come from a place of genuine concern but somehow it's magically all the Adelaide and North Melbourne supporters in here. What is it about those 2 clubs specifically that sets them apart from the other 15 clubs in 2023?

There are Port supporters who hop on other boards with the same sort of shit when another club buggers something up, so i'm certainly not saying we're immune to it.

Will the 'a lOt oF aRmChAiR dOcTorS oN hErE' crowd come out, apologise and admit they were wrong now?
I will happily admit I got this one very wrong. The Dr has made an error, he has admitted to his mistake & will now have to bare the consequences of his decision making. Well done to the poster who called this out from the start.
