God the parasite is on Dwayne Russell's show today as well. Dwayne-O just said Port is not an "8 (top) worthy list".
Pretty sure our list had 11 first rounders plus players like Houston, Farrell,Rioli,DBJ etc,it was a list good enough to make a GF,the smokescreens from the media is insane, including younger list than hawks, that can happen when U play an 18year old and he drops the average age of the team.

Malthouse/Buckley & Clarkson/Mitchell successions were both disastrous in terms of (1) becoming a disatraction and (2) how messy they got.

Roos/Goodwin worked okay but Melbourne were coming off the lowest base imaginable.
More Roos was actual on board with the handover and embraced it. The other two were talked into it and then started throwing the toys out of the cot when they didn’t like it.

How Ken would handle it I’m not sure.

I think Roos wanted to go. Hinkley wants to cling on, despite not really seeming to enjoy the job at all. All about the dollars.

What if he's towing the company line? You know, his employer? Pays the bills etc.

Seriously, people potting Timmy G?? People have short memories. If it wasn't for him and Fiacchi the one club thing probably would never have happened.
That's than, this is now, Timmy is a paid mouthpiece for the club , doesn't wanna lose his privileges, that's his choice,it's our choice not to like it

Love the “younger than hawthorn” line

Like yeah by 12 days on average, we’re not talking years

Also, if Marshall and Soldo had played instead of their counterparts wouldn’t we then be older?

So dumb
34 year-old Dixon pulled out late being replaced by 19 year-old Lorenz who played a handful of minutes and didn’t impact the game, which would have skewed the age stats further.

I'm one to have a go at Koch at any time and under just about any circumstances but I agree with him about the young nature of the team. I don't think he should be going on about it either.

The majority of our best players are young or younger.
We still have quite a lot of improving to do within the young set.
Dixon and if Boak retires will bring that age down again.
Once again, a good coach and we would be looking at dynasty but it is not the case.

But Dixon didn't play, neither did Chad Wingard.

I don't think we need to play down how young we are, we field a pretty young side. Our only 30+ year olds in our best 22 next season will be Aliir and maybe Boak, and our prime movers like Butters, Rozee, JHF and McEntee are still sub 25, not even into their primes.

It's not an excuse for losing your home QF by 14 goals, there is no excuse, so we can still be excited about the young talent on our list without worrying about it being used as an excuse for Ken Stinkley

This doesn't give him carte blanche to ignore what the club has become. Everyone who has spoken to him says privately that Timmy G isn't happy, but he's letting everyone down by not having a public opinion on it. It hurts us. He still has so much respect and sway, especially for our older supporters.

He could have come out last year and backed Tredrea instead of staying silent. So many past players were cowards at that time. A few club legends supporting Tredders would have made an enormous difference.

I know it's nice to keep problems in-house, but you have to draw a line somewhere, and we've skipped away from that line with David Koch completely destroying the culture of the club by breeding a culture of zero accountability. Timmy, legend that he is, has sat on his hands and publicly okayed it up until this point.

I'm not sure the interview means much, it was probably teed up ages ago. It does also mean that the rumour that Ken is on extended leave is incorrect. Nobody is doing media like this on holiday, especially not Hinkley
He was never going on an extended break before the B&F.

Which just shows that the rumours that fly around here aren't necessarily correct. This thread is like one big gameday thread where we're all posting through a stressful time at high emotion.

We've got Powerbaz saying he's staying, we've got Chewy who says the decision hasn't been made yet. I'd suggest their sources are on opposite sides of the aisle, but there will be a discussion about it, it may have already occurred.

Take it with a pinch of salt but on SEN I am fairly sure Kym just stated via text, he is off sick) that Ken will walk away and dew will be coaching at port next year. Unsure if it meant head coach or assistant. Don’t know if he would know anything though.

Fingers crossed, it just doesn't make sense to lure Dew away from QLD if it's not for at the very least a senior assistant position, which would mean Hinkley out and Carr head coach.
