Angry drunk footy fans, bless 'em :D

Looked like Dean Brogan leaving at three quarter time too. They've had enough.

Imagine losing a Prelim by 14 goals, and instead of being in denial about it, passing the buck, going to war with a club legend, or letting it crush your entire window — you genuinely heed lessons from the failure, make adjustments, and immediately bounce back to win one flag and force yourself into pole position to win another.

Holy sh¡t though. We do have Ken Hinkley. So it’s not all bad.

26400 at ao for a prelim lol

The TV news bulletins are reporting that a large Sack Hinkley sign appeared at Alberton overnight. Why doesn't that surprise me? I would add a Sack Koch sign to the collection followed by a Sack Davies and Richardson sign just to make the full set.

We await the cries of 'despicable act of vandalism' from the Coach.

Anyone have a photo of this ?

The "Ken doesn't have the cattle" argument is just so laughable. Fact is, you could go through every premiership team of the last 30 years and find a mix of A-Grade talent and honest toilers or role players. No club on earth will ever go out there with 22 A'-Graders. It simply isn't possible with such a thin pool of elite talent nation-wide. It's the good coaches who turn those honest toilers into premiership role players that complement their stars. That is what separates those coaches from the Hinkley's of the world. Hinkley has more than enough elite talent at his disposal, and has had so over the entirety of his tenure. He's simply found wanting when it comes to managing the players who require the most management, plain and simple.
Matthew Spangher has an AFL premiership medal.

From last night's team of 23 there were 7 who have made an All-Australian side, 1 Brownlow medalist and 1 Brownlow runner up.

  • Dixon
  • DBJ
  • Wines
  • Boak
  • Butters
  • Rozee
  • Aliir

I get that some of these players are well past their best - but let's not act like they're bloody scrubbers who wouldn't get games at other top teams in the comp.

This list of course doesn't include Dan Houston (multiple All-Oz selections), JHF (selected in this year's All-Oz top 40) and Mitch Georgiades (40 goals on the year from just 18 games).

Anyone saying that Ken doesn't have the cattle is a flat out idiot.

This is it. Do people actually think players like Mannagh, Humprhies, Kolodjashnij, Bews, let alone your Rhys bloody Stanleys and Zach Guthries, are actually A-grade talent?

Geelong haven't had insane skill/luck when it comes to selecting AA calibre players, they have a coaching system that allows them to get the absolute best out of whatever 23 they bring out on game day.

Lol the entire hinkley clan will be run out of Adelaide and we will be filling like 30 spots at the club because they unfortunately bred way too many of the nepo ****ers.

I'm liking the suggestions that Ken will be gone in the event of a straight sets exit next week, but I don't believe it. Under this regime making finals = success and entitles Ken to continue as contracted. And if we have an unlikely win he'll be lauded like the second coming for getting the side up after such an atrocious loss. Either way he's here next year and frankly, if we make finals next year I'll be expecting him to get another extension unless he himself decides to walk away.
Until it is formal, I'm assuming Ken Hinkley is living up to his contract next year and coaching the Port Adelaide Football Club no matter what Chewy says.

As you've said, finals has been enough for this rabble.

He's a man of his word. Said he wouldn't change thing and hasn't

PSA that the match next week may be the final chance you get to really yell and boo at Ken before he goes.

actually great that he is gonna meet his end at home so we can sing heyyyy goodbye.

Almost worth the price of admission.

I heard on radio Geelong had 9 new players playing who weren’t in the 22 GF team.

What a well coached team that is and also their system.

Along these lines, just imagine how especially dire the past 20 years would’ve been if we’d actually lost the 2004 Grand Final.

“But we won three minor premierships in a row! Of course we should’ve won at least one!”

— “You’re dreaming. Just compare the two midfields man-for-man. Voss, Black, Akermanis and Lappin versus Peter Burgoyne, Carr, James and Kane Cornes = No contest! Toby Thurstans or Jonathan Brown? Josh Mahoney or Blake Caracella? Chris Johnson or Matthew Bishop? Choco’s a miracle worker for winning so many games with that lot!”
