I just watched the replay and we didn't play that badly.

We won a huge amount of clearances, good clearances but there was no leading into space in the forward line.

Longmire would've been laughing at Dixon and Ratugolea getting the ball dropped on their heads and the Swans defenders easily killing the ball.

If we had a good, functioning forward, we could've won that game.

And this is why its fundamentally flawed. Trying to lock the ball in our forward 65m can wear ordinary teams down. It doesn't work against good teams with good defenders. Trying to have any from of cohesive leading forward movement when there is constantly 26 players in our forward 50 is why its fundamentally flawed.

The ramparts and battlements are up, the motte is filled, the defence of the Ken Hinkley Football Club is in full swing.

Players love him unconditionally and just need to keep trying and they'll get there "one day"

Next the Ruccis and Corneses will begin with the "he's a gentleman coaching at the top of his game" & "who are you gonna replace him with, the list isn't upto it"

In 3 days we'll have Koch or Richo saying something like "though it's a disappointing end to the season, we're proud of what Ken and the group have achieved this year, given injuries and the age of the list"

Ken puts his blinds down for another 5 months.

Away we go into 25.

Rinse and repeat next year when the pressure dial gets turned up.

Locking it in there and flooding your own forward line with shit entries is the gift that keeps on giving
The most infuriating part was watching the Swans get dominated by Aliir in the first quarter, then they immediately changed their forward entries, while Ken let our **** game plan ride the entire game without changing anything.

Rozee saying that and putting the performances he does is pretty embarassing.

At least when Gray, Boak or even Dixon say that you know that they put everything into Ken's shit house game plan.

Connor is a very conditional footballer who rarely gives 100%
Rozee is as soft as butter.

Was Grant Thomas the last coach sacked after making a finals series?

He lost 2 x Prelims in 2004/05 then and 2006 EF.

Rod Butters, like Kochie backed him in for so long but after 6 years Rod seen enough.

Thomas knew no Club would hire him again. He went to a career in the media and got sacked multiple times.

Ken will probably go down the same path.

Dealing with the issue we have right now and another year to go on his contract.
Maybe the Club could slip him into Corporate with his car sales expertise.

It’s refreshing to hear his biggest backers like Whateley now conceding that his time is up.

The Club needs to be swift and get on the front foot as each day the train wreck will become greater.

Seems Ken is on the front foot on radio 3AW, normally he vanishes.

Does anyone know, maybe chewy? what Richardsons view is on ken staying or going, even though he is not on the board therefore doesnt vote he does run the club and normally a good ceo would have influance on these sort of things.
Richo is on the footy committee that the board delegate the decision to.

I'm afraid that given Dixon will (likely) retire soon, the football committee will say "well if Dixon has retired, Ken can't keep bombing it to him! he'll be forced to innovate and use a different gameplan! So we'll let him coach next year!", except we have evidence to the contrary.

2013-2016 we were bombing it to Schultz. No coleman, No grand final, no success.
2016-2022 we were bombing it to Dixon & Marshall. No coleman, No grand final, no success.
2023 we were bombing it to a mix of Dixon, Finlayson, and Marshall. No coleman, No grand final, no success.
2024 we've been bombing it to Dixon, Marshall, and Georgiades. No coleman, No grand final, no success.

If Ken is allowed to coach in 2025, you can guarantee he'll institute a 'Bomb it to Georgiades / Sav / Finlayson / whoever' gameplan, and we'll see the exact same outcome - failure.
