How many years has Kane been saying it's a GF or bust for Ken, only to change when we inevitably fail to "ohh I just think the list isn't upto it"

This list doesn't change from when he makes the first statement to when we drop out.

About time people started calling him out on this.

@Alyx this would make a great before and after graphic that we could share the **** out of.

Also one of Ken's before and after statements.

Best list ever! Then we didn't have the forward cattle.

You're overselling the importance of this week.
Ken has no say in list management.
The pitches to the relevant trade targets were made months ago.
He's not going to be involved in anything that will be at the detriment of the Club going forward.

Ken has no say in list management and the footy committee are already well aware of Carr's opinions on the players.
But you can't argue that any player still making up their mind might be turned off by the instability.

The old Port would say **** the AFL (SANFL) and sack him tomorrow anyway.

Through his manager, the media cartel, and current and former players, Hinkley has very deliberately crafted a scenario where sacking him would be akin to shooting Bambi. Not many would have the nerve to push past this and cut him loose, least of all David Koch.
So much of his ability to get away with this is due to the general disdain for Port Adelaide as a club. Yeh, the club he coaches.

To be fair i think a lot of us have stopped listening to 90% of what he says. I have barely watched a presser in years.
Despite what the players say publicly, I'd be surprised if several of them don't feel the same way.

Out: Port Adelaide Football Club
In: Port Adelaide Child Care Centre

We are a very embarassing club
I wouldn't say embarrassing. While we're all very disappointed, finishing outside the 8 and falling apart would have been embarrassing. GWS, Bulldogs, Carlton were all disappointing in finals.

We've obviously got stuff to work on but geez imagine had we finished in 10th or something.

Which is amazing given his command of the English language in football interviews.

Hinkley immediately trying to shift blame away from himself after the game is just abysmal

Even if it’s true, you cannot as the head coach and figurehead be seen to dismiss personal accountability in such a way.

This is literal 101 , if you don’t know this you aren’t fit to coach under 9’s type shit.

What example does this set for our players ? For our captain? What does it say to the fan base that keeps the club afloat?

And then Kane coming in with , this is a list management issue, they don’t have the cattle.

If I’m Geoff Parker / Jason Cripps I’m telling the club to go eat a bag of dicks, they’ll get offers to work elsewhere and don’t have to accept being the scapegoats so the boys club can get around and protect each other. That’s trying to shift blame to a less visible identity.

If they could they would probably blame the guy who washes the kits after games for the loss.

How can Hinkley be expected to win when the guy used cold wash instead of 40o? He’s just human. He can’t wash it for them!

Absolute rot at the club and the cancer needs to be cut out.

If we had a member controlled board like the vic clubs it never would have gotten this far.

**** you corrupt Mickey Mouse league. You’ve assimilated the club just to help your hip pocket and control us. As far as I’m concerned the afl has the legitimacy of a backyard gambling joint run under a laundromat by Chinese mobsters.

If this is true, then why is he still employed by the club?

He's the head coach, but he's been excluded from list management decisions.

He's the head coach, but he doesn't run the player exit interviews.

He's the head coach, but he's not involved in anything (where he can do damage) going forward.

What the **** does he do?
He can wiggle his finger pretty well. He's definitely special.

Might also be the case where they miss out on a player because they were invested in Ken.

On what evidence is that opinion of Chris Scott as a senior coach based in August 2010? Did you pick up on that from his performance as an assistant coach at Freemantle?

In hindsight appointing Primus over Scott was a mistake but at the time it wasn't an obvious bad decision.

Matt has outstanding Port Adelaide heritage - but that was not a deciding factor in his appointment. He was the best candidate pure and simple at the end of a very demanding and competitive selection process.”

I'm on record in a footy forum that no longer operates that I wanted Chris Scott as our coach post Williams. I was impressed by his analysis of the game & the fact he was a tough, skilled footballer with great leadership. I wanted an outsider after too many years of Williams. Nothing more that.

Like we did in 2016, 2018 and 2019, and Ken skated through smelling of roses?
Not arguing. it was a prime opportunity to make a fresh start. We left it too late, resigned him and failed again, now we have an opportunity to cut ties and get a fresh start and we're going to put ourselves in the same situation next season.

So we finish 5-8 next season and sign him up again? I think pull the trigger now (Dump him of course).

You mean like 2015 (flag favorites), 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022?

Crazy that after 12 years we are still trying to find that “missing puzzle piece” in this list
News just in - the only thing that's been missing all this time has been the coach's coaching ability.

The worst thing about Kenny's presser is that he didn't in any way, shape or form look unhappy or hurt from the loss.

He looked like a guy who had been given the go ahead to buckle up for next year.
After the loss to Hawthorn in the 2014 PF, he genuinely looked devastated. That's all changed now - it's just a job to him.

Just a reminder that when (if) Hinkley eventually leaves it will take a long time to undo the damage that the cult of Kenny Hinkley has done to our club.

I love donuts too, but if I ate nothing else for 12 years the only premiership I'm winning is the Adult-Onset Diabetes Cup.

The Anti Ken members of the Board really need to leverage on this, Ken's refusal to accept responsibility and attempt to lay blame on others to protect himself. He is supposed to be the senior coach.
