Port has turned into a car yard in Davo Park...
And Hinkley is the feral car sales man...
"Yous should buy this beauty only 504000k's on the clock... Don't mind the needles in the ash tray.. I'll get my mate koch to clean it up for ya... Hey Donna is my ****ing instant coffee and toasted sandwich ready yet ya bitch?"
They spoke to JHF, Bergman instead of Butters,RozeeSo why didn't we land any free agents if Kenny is such a great salesman?
Think we all know Butters was prob offered captaincy and turned it down, then only extended his contract until free agency.Yeh. After the AGM I thought his appointment would be OK even though I thought Butters was a way better on field leader. But I was wrong. This guy oozes soft. He has no idea what it takes to lead a team to a flag. Typical Port appointment.
And now he's a multi millionaire, the world can be a messed up place

It’s genuinely wild how they perceive their situation compared to ours, whenever sob stories are exchanged.
Disparaging Nicks like we disparage Hinkley, when the Crows have nailed barely 3 first round picks in the past 15 years (either at the draft or via trade).
There’s a reason Ben Keays is currently their equal best player, and it’s not because Nicks was mismanaging the likes of Ned McHenry, Chayce Jones and Matt Crouch.

Ken being a little bit of a speedster and high flyer is such a foreign concept to me as someone who’s never heard of him prior to becoming Port’s coach. Like surely not, there’s no way right????
Our players regularly declaring how much they love Kenny™ is just a sign of the cult of Hinkley entrenched at Alberton. It's also interesting that no Crows players (unless I've missed it) have pledged their undying love in the media to Matthew Nicks. It's either because he's a total scumbag and they hate him, or they see it as a pointless exercise.
Correct. So he is 100% here next year? Without a doubt?
I can add one... When delisted from Geelong was willingly courted by Freo until he decided the payday wasn't big enough for him and preferred easy money in Geelong league. This decision is more on the club and they are the ones we should be angry at, but I can't help but look at this in the context of Hinkley's long career of me-first behaviour.
Doesn't take responsibility for our performances, throws the players under the bus.
Has set a gameplan that caps out at making finals and is fine with it because it keeps getting him new contracts.
Kicks the accountability can down the road at every turn, shifts the goal posts and hides when he can't deflect.
Stood out of football for a season to force Fitzroy to trade him to Geelong.
Has admitted that footy isn't that big of a deal for him these days but is still employed as an AFL head coach a decade later.
Doesn't seek to improve or challenge himself, surrounds himself with yes men and forces out people who will challenge him.
Contacts and admonishes people in the media who are critical of him.
Leveraged the Gold Coast offer for a big new contract at Port.
Leveraged the COVID rules to lock himself in for longer.
Utilises his friends in the media to disparage the fans and the players to protect him at all costs.
Flat out does not accept any criticism internally or externally.
This wasn't Hinkley looking after himself with the uncertainty of COVID, this was Hinkley continuing to feather his own nest because that's ultimately all he cares about. He doesn't care about the club and he doesn't care about winning a flag.
So many have moved on and served at different clubs now.
Hardwick, Dew, Monty, Schofield (penny for his honest thoughts), Kingsley, Francou, Lade. They don’t stand to gain anything by speaking out against Port as they are career footballers turned coaches, and doing so might burn that money laden bridge. Sickening
Kornes is either a poor liar or deluded, probably a bit of both.
Cassisi not far removed.
Dean Brogan had some things to say but never caught the crux.
Mead, Flash and Burgoyne are obviously conflicted too.
That leaves the muted Tredrea, now better off outside the gutless board than within. I fear when he departs board duty so too will his testicles depart his scrotum.
What a weird and depressing situation where the high point of dissent is a boo or a sticker from the fan base that is then potted by the playing squad!

Came 3rd in the Brownlow and apparently used to go ball chasing to try and get Brownlow votes so the legendary story goes. Probably one that can be added to the Hinkley first list earlier.Ken being a little bit of a speedster and high flyer is such a foreign concept to me as someone who’s never heard of him prior to becoming Port’s coach. Like surely not, there’s no way right????
I went there in the 80's it made Footy Park feel warm, it was falling apart and most of the crowd had had lobotomies.View attachment 2139395
Lol the state of pre-Porkbarrel Park.
Makes Norwood Oval look like Tottenham’s new place.
So he is 100% here next year? Without a doubt?
It's like that English teacher you love coz they let you watch movies every lesson. You don't learn anything but it's fun.Yeah it's nuts isn't it. They effectively like him because he has low expectations of them.
I guess he's a pretty hard sell from any other perspective. He's not good at strategy, he's not good at gameday tactics, the players aren't motivated consistently.
We know why he wasn't let go in 2017. Koch lost the Chinese jumper war to GC, he wasn't losing the coach to GC.It's not just the Port Adelaide of old that would have sacked Hinkley, btw. It's the St Kilda of now, it's the Gold Coast of now, it's the absolute least ruthless clubs that have ever existed. Every one of them would have let him go to the Gold Coast in 2017. Every single one of them would have let his contract expire if they didn't sack him.
Yeh, how did the Saints afford their off loading of coaches. They're assisted more than we are (on previous figures I've seen).I don't buy that excuse at all. Our debt has been going down. Other clubs seem to have the funds even though they are in a similiar or worse financial situation. Smells like bull....
I'd be locking him up in the basementI would pitch rocks at him.
Apparently mismanaged twice. MmmmAnd if we couldn't sack him, it's just pathetic mismanagement from a pack of idiots who couldn't run a chook raffle. If you're at the point where you would sack a coach but you've mismanaged his contract to the point where you can't, everyone involved in the decision should fall on their swords.
As they should now.
Is this in reference to WGT’s comments on 5aa this week? He seemed keen to make it clear that Ken had been involved in all of the interviews etc and was responsible for getting Aliir, Sava, JHF etc to the club. Weirdly complimentary. So why didn't we land any free agents if Kenny is such a great salesman?
