Don't worry, baby, it must be the area

Houston probably chose to get a ban so he could have more time off before leaving. Decided Rankine was the perfect option.

Collingwood told him to get a ban and save himself.

🤪🤪

Just because we were happily distracted enjoying the trade period don’t think for a moment there’s not jockeying happening behind closed doors that you have no idea about.

🤔 Like how do we give ken an extension?

+ Happily distracted? Most of us knew from early on we were getting ****ed in the ass with the Houston trade.... I bet none of us had the bingo card of ratkins joining us but 😂😂😂

Kane Cornes says that Ken Hinkley will need a Grand Final to get a contract extension (He will immediately abandon this when it becomes clear we won't be doing that, and blame the list)

Gerard Whately says that Port are in a mini rebuild with no expectation of performance and talks about how Ken Hinkley is the perfect man for the job, even discussing a contract extension so he can see through the rebuild.

Dom Cassisi is elected to the board at the AGM.

The membership department issue everyone who has ever held a Port membership before a free membership, this includes pets and the dead. We break our membership record. Koch claims victory.

We take a reach with pick 13 and a flanker with pick 29.

Ken Hinkley finally raises the roller shutters again 4 days prior to Round 1 and says that we've addressed last year's issues and we're ready to compete this year. Note that he doesn't specifically say we're ready to win the flag. He also says that he's been in footy a long time.

Cassisi is on Team Carr.

Correct me if I’m wrong but he changed side after the Showdown lost in May?

His eyes were wide open after that game in particular, though I'm not sure if he had turned already by then.

They could really rescue the disastrous trade period from a PR perspective by sacking Hinkley

It's the only way at this point.

Still waiting for chewys enjoy the draft post... 😐

Let's see what happens.

People wanting to use their brain should be hypothetically asking the question, "why was Ken so headstrong and almost pleading when he asked for 'one last crack at it' on 5AA the day before the B&F?"

I would also suggest that the recent trade of Houston for draft picks to rejuvenate and rebuild the list on the fly is most definitely a move looking toward the future, which is completely incongruent with Ken's objective being in a contract year which is to win now and not have the club go backwards. There is a complete mismatch right now between the moves made by the list management team which are discussed ad nauseum by the footy committee - the very people who decide the senior coach's future, and the senior coach's objectives for 2025.

But these moves would make a lot more sense if you had a younger senior coach on a long term contract who is given enough rope such that the list management team build it in his image.

I won't be providing any further update until a decision is confirmed either way from my best source.
