Carr has a lot to answer for, if he had a backbone & threatened to go to another club, he’d most probably be our head coach by now.

Yep not enuf ambition for me. I want a ruthless hungry coach. More like the player he was rather than the assistant coach he is.

Two things.
1) He wants a flag because he’s so stubborn in his belief to get us there and probably believes he richly deserves it through sheer time and effort he’s put in (and he loves the money that comes with it of course.)
2) If there’s no succession announcement then Carr isn’t in Adelaide for the top job.

And your point #1 is exactly why I don't want to hear any comparisons between Fagan and Hinkley in the leadup to the 2025 season as people try to justify Ken's continued employment.

Fagan has constantly tried to better himself year-on-year, learn and develop by undertaking professional development trips all over the world in search of the one per cent edge that would ultimately help deliver the Lions the 2024 flag.

Ken does none of this, but thinks he will still eventually be entitled to achieve the ultimate success just because he's stuck around for a long time enabled by weakness above him.

We are the dumbest ****ing organisation in elite sports.

I actually think he could get us to a GF, even win the whole thing, if he lived long enough.

When i first heard about Longmire stepping down i couldn't help but think why this couldn't be us, however, now knowing that they've created a new position "Executive Director of Club Performance" to allow Longmire to hang around i'm not so sure.

That is exactly what we don't want to happen. I'd rather Hinkley coach out his contract and be gone for good, give Carr some clear air then have him hang around in some wanky role and his stench still wafting around Alberton.

This is something that could work for Sydney, but it's not going to work here.

I think the best we can hope for is announcement that the succession plan is happening no matter what at the end of next season.

This is probably actually some role that allows Sydney to pay out his final contract year but outside of the soft cap, because he's now an Executive Director not a part of the Football Operations program.

Yeah probably, but with Hinkley if he is not coaching he needs to be out completely.

Fagan lost a grand final by a kick in year 7. Won a flag in year 8. Ken Hinkley LOL.

You also need to win a minimum of three finals in a season to win the Premiership. Brisbane won four finals this year to get the job done. Port Adelaide has won a combined total of three finals in the last 10 years.

Carr is settled in Adelaide for family reasons. If you believe Cox, that is also why he turned down a return to West Coast.

So what are the odds of us getting a change of coach by mid season.

Hawthorn second favourites to win it all, having won a threepeat, bottomed out, and moved on from a GOAT-tier coach during Hinkley’s time here — and started last season 0-5.

Who’s pumped for Energetic Ken to go again?!

Hawthorn are not well placed to win a flag. They couldn't even beat Port Adelaide in a final despite being gifted goals and having Stevic lined up for them in the prelim. Carlton or Collingwood should be flag favourites.... unfortunately.

What is the point of Ken.....

Don't answer..

I believe a few years back, the club 'forced' Ken to go to one of those coaching Havard courses and had to bring Voss with him as a chaperone.

Anyhow for a coach that is always telling the players and supporters they need to learn, he sure sets a great example sitting at home all the time.

We finish the season second on the ladder, make the final 4 in the finals and there are still 6 teams that didn’t get that far with better odds than us.

Quite sickening really

Didn't we send Ken to an overseas coaching clinic just before it was leaked that he was going to coach Gold Coast and panicked the club into re-signing him?

And most of our star players haven’t peaked yet and should only get better.

I wonder what the issue could be…

Not getting it done time and time again under hinkley has to be the main reason we aren't around the $10 mark. It might be that we are considered a top 4 side but only the 10th best chance of winning the flag?

But then again they have us 9th in the list of odds to make the 8 too, which i think is completely misguided.
