Feels like he's done now. All facets of the situation are being openly discussed in the media. He's gone. A loss against Freo will put it beyond doubt.

The silence from the club is very noticeable. I'm not too concerned about the financial troubles of the club. The SMA are absolute leeches and I'm sure it won't be long before the SANFL is having another whinge that they can't suck any more blood out of Port.

Apparently Hinkley's owed $800,000 for next year alone. Good ******* god, no wonder KT is so stressed these days. He signed away his job as CEO when he put pen to paper on that over inflated contract.
It wouldn't matter if it was $200,000 we really cannot afford it, and that's significantly the issue. If the club does decide after the North Melbourne catastrophe that Hinkley's continued coaching is toxic I'm not sure we can pay our way out of his next year.

The GWS game makes me angrier. We went into that game with a forward structure we'd used multiple times and failed with multiple times. And we had options.

The Round 4 Richmond game, we hadn't failed multiple times with said forward structure yet. Despite everything against the Lions we probably would've won if we'd kicked straight in the first 3 quarters of the game. Brisbane would've been 5 goals down at 3/4 time instead of still in the game.

Also in the round 4 game, Frampton was suspended from previous SANFL game and so the SANFL forward option was Marshall. And Marshall hadn't played well at all in the previous SANFL game.

Still baffles me.

Must-win game. Vulnerable opponent whose biggest strengths are their intercept markers and key forwards.

We drop Dixon, don’t select Marshall and play our tallest, quickest defender as a makeshift forward (he kicks 25% of our goals on the night so of course we drop him for the following week).

And we’re sat here being spun stories about what a wonderful coach Hinkley is, and how it’s the inconsistency of youth that’s to blame for the teal ceiling of mediocrity.

lol

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, despite Dougals 2 goals, he was beyond deplorable that night.

But, the stupid thing is this is still less than Wines’ payment for 2019 - who we lost for the year due to relaxation.

I want Ken gone as much as the next person, but Bickley said something the other night to Tredders which resonated with me.

He said, "Hinkley knows he has conditional clauses in his contract where he must make finals in order to unlock the 2021 year. Hinkley could have just kept Wingard and Polec (both contracted) and pushed to make the 8 and play it safe for his own benefit, yet he got rid of those two and blooded kids all year risking his own future at the club, in the attmept to better the overall future of the club"

Bickley actually has a point here. I think Ken actually does care about the club despite some people on here thinking otherwise, but he just doesn't have the nous of a good coach to take the club where it needs to be.
Nah. Wingard and Polec were strange cats that strayed too far from the Hinkley country bogan ideal and he didn't know how to handle them. Throw Pittard in there as well.

Riddle me this.

Every one of them would have far lower attendences (you cant double count when 2 vic teams play eachother) and less members than us, yet we're one of 4 teams on the financial watch list.

Which is it:
1) We make plenty of $, yet the $nafl takes most of it? SA footy / government win, we lose.
2) We're running alarming losses, but so are 12 other teams?
3) Our financial mismanagement is diabolically and uniquely bad (again)?
4) Our financial "strife" is a media / political beat up?

Can someone explain to me how this works? Genuinely, id like to understand. Yes theres the Hìnkley debacle, but thats still a small % of the yearly operating costs.

Port Adelaide's financial position was the lead story on 7 News tonight. Apparently we're one of 4 clubs on the AFL's financial watch list. It's just a coincidence that all this new information emerges right as pressure to sack Hinkley reaches unchartered territory, right? fu** Hinkley and fu** his slimy manager.
Why do you think this is coming from Ken? The people responsible for his current contract that will likely dictate inaction have more to gain from this information being public.

The only permanent tall forwards he's stuck with in his tenure are Schulzy & Dix he's incapable of investing the time into young KPF's & has little patience with them.. if you are 4'11 and ordinary though you can nail a spot for life.

Trade wines for a first rounder. Play drew. That's pretty much paid hinkleys 2020 contact and made us better short and long term. Plus we might have a good coach.
Simples. Insert meerkat pic here.

Actually, this makes a lot of sense. There may be extenuating reasons and injuries have hit, but has Wines given us anything more than Drew / Atley would have this year? A good and fit version of wines would have helped, but our problems ran far deeper than that, and i doubt whether we will ever see the "good" version we all thought he was 3 years ago.

How much do you think he gets paid to not attend staff meetings?

1. SMA are cnuts

2. Struggled with sponsors. Went all of 2018 with no replacement for Renault and Russell knows what GFG are chipping in. It’s never even been hinted at.

16 grand per week for achieving f*ck all. Nice work if you can get it. Why would you walk?

New coach, start having a more consistent performance each week and all this goes away.

We live in a two team town, I doubt anybody in the media gives a shit about anything to do with us.

News for the customers and to sell papers.

Still have to spend the cap.

What happened?

I know Dixon said he was still sore in his leg and last time he played at Etihad he was very sore the next week. Said on radio late last week that he still isnt 100% and etihad will make him hurt.
