The players obviously love him
They are a very tight group
Be nice if we didn't keep spoiling each other in the forward line though

Marginally better.Unpopular opinion this thread: Our 5-1 this season is far more impressive than our 11-4 was.
Anybody that knows anything about football could see the massive flaws and issues in our 11-4 win/loss. This year, based on our performances and players I'm actually starting to believe.
I think for Hinkley to regain some credibility for me I'd want a prelim at the bare minimum this season. We are not rebuilding. The list profile and the players being picked is strongly indicative of this.
No, it's the brand of footy we are playing compared to a couple of years ago, that was unsustainable slop based on negative tactics and dragging the game down to a pathetic level. That was never going to work against compitent teams.Marginally better.
We were 4-2 and lost to the usual suspects Essendon at Docklands and Geelong anywhere (AO) and the 4 wins were against bottom teams. We were 6-4 then won 5 in in a row, a few were unconvincing. Beating GWS after we had choked against Brisbane makes it a better start than 2018.
In 2018, Port was 3-0, and this board was up in arms. We were 11-4, and this board was in "there is something wrong with us" mode. It's almost as if you weren't alive during the days post 11-4.

I trust this board. I don't trust Port.
Flag or bust. Anything less is a sack hinkley
Yep, Travis liking Hinkley is irrefutable proof that Hinkley is a great coach. The past five failed seasons didn't actually happen because Travis sees Hinkley as part of the family.
It really is. Boak is an injury away from decline, Gray, Westhoff, Ebert, Rockliff, Motlop are all in decline and will be worse next year. This is the year to win it.
We'll still have s good young list next year, but won't have the experience to jag a flag.
My fear is we will make the finals this year, but bow out in the prelim (to me this isn't good enough), Hinkley will get an extension over the Summer.
Even if Hinkley wins the flag I don't want him re signed. He's been there too long for average results, we need a fresh set of ideas to carry us through the next phase with an exciting young list.
Time to cut your losses:
Individuals commit the sunk cost fallacy when they continue a behavior or endeavor as a result of previously invested resources (time, money or effort) (Arkes & Blumer, 1985). This fallacy, which is related to loss aversion and status quo bias, can also be viewed as bias resulting from an ongoing commitment.
For example, individuals sometimes order too much food and then over-eat just to “get their money’s worth”. Similarly, a person may have a $20 ticket to a concert and then drive for hours through a blizzard, just because she feels that she has to attend due to having made the initial investment. If the costs outweigh the benefits, the extra costs incurred (inconvenience, time or even money) are held in a different mental account than the one associated with the ticket transaction (Thaler, 1999).
Research suggests that rats, mice and humans are all sensitive to sunk costs after they have made the decision to pursue a reward (Sweis et al., 2018).
Did we win some secret premierships that Travis knows about and we don't?
I have know idea what the hell you are on about but anyone can go online and quote somebody's writings.Time to cut your losses:

We all knew who we were, it's now that I am uncertain about.Did we win some secret premierships that Travis knows about and we don't?
Otherwise, just an employee talking up their manager. How unusual.
Just typical Hinkley, he will go when he has extracted everything possible from the club. 11 or so players nearing the end, leaving the incoming coach with years of rebuilding a squad worthy of finals success, something Ken could not achieve with the abundance of talent he has had and the backing of the club, also triple the time of other AFL coaches. Wasted years. It really is. Boak is an injury away from decline, Gray, Westhoff, Ebert, Rockliff, Motlop are all in decline and will be worse next year. This is the year to win it.

The sad thing is that Thunderpants doesn't understand that Hinkley is only still coaching at Ports because of the sunk cost fallacy and the related plan continuation bias.I have know idea what the hell you are on about but anyone can go online and quote somebody's writings.

So Thunderpants is now on the Sack Hinkley train or are those posts supposed to be under their alt account?
I think he's been on the sack hinkley train for a few weeks now since he started putting him in the same basket as Badloss.
