The real question is how many coaches got 7 years without the regular top 4 and GF finishes and went on to claim premierships?

Thompson Hardwick and Buckley are the three other coaches that have been in this position, two have gone on to multiple premierships from year 8 on. So clearly it is most likely that Port will win the flag this year and another one or two in the next few years.
