Koch is tied to Ken and committed to see it through even tho it will never succeed. Escalation of commitment. The only way Ken goes is if you replace Kochie.
I wonder of Koch has cone across sunk cost fallacy in all his economics study?

#sackken

They're still in debt . How's that possible?

• Paying for our AFL licence a second time

• Heavy investment in the football department and community programs

• China fell through just as we were poised to start making profits

• 150th celebrations utterly muted due to COVID

• Other COVID-related shortages blew out the debt by ~$4,000,000 — as an example, we should have had 4 consecutive home finals featuring packed houses and all the associated profiting as part of the heavily-incentivised for September AO stadium deal, and instead suffered reduced capacity and other limitations in all of them. Putrid.

I would hope behind close doors the players coaches and admin are putting the heat on each other regardless of what koch is saying publicly and that sat night was a disgrace and can't happen again. Listening to trav sat night I have no doubt that would be the case. But nevertheless koch needs to leave there is nothing wrong coming out and saying the truth that the club failed and were sorry. Don't want a wimp as chairman.

I am shocked at so many people not already being done. I would never tell people to chuck in memberships, likewise would never be critical of those that do (I did 2 seasons ago), but I just feel that while we continue to get 55+k members, they give zero fu**s about the odd disgruntled member chucking it in. Until they get like 20k non renewals they can do whatever the fu** they like

You’re absolutely right. If I cancel my membership it won’t make an ounce of difference to the club because it won’t affect their bottom line - plenty of others happy to sign up because “at least we’re better than the crows”

But at least I’ll get my weekends back and save $600 to $1000 a year on tickets. Plus save the stress and disappointment.

Ken Hinkley is David Koch's investment. He shat the bed and re-signed him in 2017 when he should have gone out the door, he re-signed last year when he was happy to take a big pay cut.
David Koch will back HIS investment to the hilt. He will even go as far as to sprinkle hundreds and thousands on the Hinkley turd to try and make it appear palatable.

Just on the 6 month payout for coach contracts… pretty sure for AFL-funded clubs (not sure what that means exactly) the decision to sack mid contract needs to be AFL endorsed. The league would not endorse the sacking of Ken at this time, if that is indeed what would be required. Will leave that research to REH.
If that's the case then it must be on us paying supporters to force the AFL's hand. Everyone needs to email membership@pafc.com.au, quote your membership number and advise that you will not be renewing whilst the fraud is in charge. It wont take them long to do the sums and work it the optimal outcome is to pay him out

There’s no shame in Koch admitting he was wrong and moving on from Hinkley, even tip toe around that and claim “things have changed”

There is however plenty to be ashamed of when you are being to arrogant and pig headed to make good to there mistakes and watch opportunities pass us by.

Yeah, Koch, those things above: abberations.

Going 3W 19L against top 4 sides: statistically significant trend.

If you guys were to move Ken on, Buckley should absolutely be your man. He is a very good coach, great football brain, very astute. No doubt there was more pressure on him to perform at Collingwood than if he was at any other club. He demands high standards and gets the most out of unwanted players (Howe, Crisp, Roughead off the top of my head basically forced out by their previous clubs).

Now that he’s separated from his wife, he’s more likely to shift interstate than he would have been a year or two ago IMO.

Would be a great get for you.
Separating from your wife doesn’t mean you want to separate from your children. It actually makes it harder for him to move not easier.

Koch makes it clear that the fans are misinformed and irrelevant. Sadly, in accordance with our constitution we members aren't members at all, just customers.

The AFL (aka our board) doesn't care if we take our custom elsewhere, we are easily replaced by more compliant happy clappers.
This is it, unfortunately. Supporters like us that put success above everything else are the minority. As long as there are enough happy-clappers to buy memberships the board will be happy. We can all refuse to renew our memberships, which we eventually don't see through and renew, and the club will be still fine. So then, you are faced with two choices: 1) walk away or 2) shut up and start clapping happily. As you said, we are basically customers, and customers either buy the product or service or they don't.
