There’s no shame in Koch admitting he was wrong and moving on from Hinkley, even tip toe around that and claim “things have changed”

There is however plenty to be ashamed of when you are being to arrogant and pig headed to make good to there mistakes and watch opportunities pass us by.

That would mean admitting he was wrong. David Koch doesn't play that game.

This is it, unfortunately. Supporters like us that put success above everything else are the minority. As long as there are enough happy-clappers to buy memberships the board will be happy. We can all refuse to renew our memberships, which we eventually don't see through and renew, and the club will be still fine. So then, you are faced with two choices: 1) walk away or 2) shut up and start clapping happily. As you said, we are basically customers, and customers either buy the product or service or they don't.
I keep membership mainly to encourage the grandchildren to be engaged with the Club. I have made a conscious decision though to limit merch purchases (which to be fair would have been easy to do this year regardless, as IMHO this is another area in which the Club has not read the room).

"the foundation Kenny has built, the team that he has built is applauded right throughout the industry."

What the f*ck are you on about Koch?

The only explanation for saying this is that David Koch has been drinking unabated since Saturday night. He's clearly plastered.

And in Ken's first 7 years he didn't either. Beverage in his time has won a flag and put himself in a position to win another.

He coaches the Bulldogs by the way. A club that has had a history of extreme limited success. He can coach. He's miles better than Hinkley. I really don't see what it is you are arguing.
Does this argument work for players too? Aaron Keating has won a flag and Robbie Gray hasn't, guess he's better.

Coaches do not all have the same tools at their disposal. Stuart Dew could have potential to be the greatest coach of all time, but we wouldn't know, he's stuck at the Suns. David Noble is stuck at Norf. Nicks is stuck at the Crows. Put Dew, Noble or Nicks at the Bulldogs and Beveridge at the Suns, there's no reason to believe that the Dogs would get any worse or the Suns/Roos/Crows get any better.

Hinkley has more tools at his disposal than those guys, obviously, but he's never had an unprecedented charmed umpiring run like Beveridge in 2016 or a generational midfield like Beveridge in 2021. If he had, there's every chance this thread would be toasting two time premiership coach Ken Hinkley.

This isn't to say we should keep Hinkley. We absolutely shouldn't. But I wouldn't replace him with Beveridge, who had been a thoroughly mediocre coach for his entire career aside from one kissed on the dick month in 2016, until he was given a midfield with Bontempelli, Macrae, Dunkley, Liberatore, Smith and Treloar in it. There's no reason whatsoever to have any faith he'd get the same results with Wines, an ageing Boak, an inexperienced Willem Drew and ???.

I will never become a happy clapper. 40 years following Port, I will not bend to the mediocrity this club now displays, my kids have thrown their membership away already and I will follow if Hinkley remains as head MUPPET.
All the reasons we love this club have been diluted down to Gold coast levels, I will still take a strong interest in the club and players but I will not condone this bullshit, by paying for something I don't support.

Even as a long shot, I reckon Clarkson is far more likely (in a years time) than Buckley. His youngest child would have finished school by then.

We need to start talking to him now.

Clarkson could actually ring David Koch's office this afternoon and Koch would tell his PA to "take a message".

A workmate who also went to the game & left a quarter earlier than me mentioned that stinkley & Schofield had a punch-on at some point that night, with players arguing between one another before the game. If so, then changes MUST be made & hope f**ken falls on his sword

It's so dam obvious that what ever message Hinkley is communicating to the players is stale old rubbish, other wise you would think the players would respond and not take the field in the most important game of their season and look like they don't want to be there, like there is some magic that can propel them straight to the GF.

I hope the heat gets turned up on Ken and we part ways.

Another 2 years of this bull, I don't think so.

Although I can't see how your mate would be privy to this kind of info, something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark.

Maybe over Ken wanting to start Drew on the bench, because he has started on the bench in other games.

The club needs to be bombarded with calls, messages, emails from as many members as possible telling them that the comments from Koch this morning are unacceptable.

"We exist to win premierships" not win loss ratios.

How about some passion from Kochie? he should be demanding explanations' from the coaches for that dismal performance where is the anger? the disappointment? the passion?

Clubs are judged by the premierships they win who cares if we are admired by the football industry who gives a f... seriously what the hell is that all about put that in our trophy cabinet "admired by the industry"

Contact the club tell everybody you know to contact the club

Kochie won't move Ken because it's he backing and will make him look bad. But the reality the whole board are clueless made up of PR stunts and led by a coach who the most protected coach in sports history ever
We are doomed as a club, some people can't see it now but they will, when Hinkley goes and players retire and some look for brighter horizons chasing a premiership, the 13 millon dollar debt will throw us back in time to 2011.

He is still on a bender.

Can't say I blame him after that loss I'm sure most fans are on his level after that performance.
