i just hope the club totally implodes next year because that is what it will take to get rid of this muppet, its a boys club in the coaching admin side protected by another boys club in the media and another boys club in former/current players like Tim Ginever, Kornes etc. They have all had their palms greased in some way by the club so the staus quo is never rocked. Its pathetic really and the fakery displayed by the players showing their disappointment isnt even what you would call good acting. Its like they are programmed to put on sad faces after a loss to show the public they care, its not the least bit genuine and its a culture fostered by Boak, Gray etc because its happened way too much over their tenure as leaders to say they are fake as well to a degree. If they stand by and listen to Kens garbage every week, every year and cop it like good little soldiers then they are either stupid or complicit.

You should take Tim G out of that

coaches in an argy bargy on the night, players arguing in the rooms before the game, players on the piss for days after the cats win. yes the buck stops with ken but an accumulation of factors led to the poor performance
Didn't another poster say the argument was Schoey & Hinkley, and among some players AFTER the game?

sorry for intrusion but i remember hearing Hinkley interviewed on the ground before the game and the last question to hinkley was i hope you enjoy the game where Hinkley replied something like " i dont think i will be able to". Maybe he knew what was coming.

Did anyone listen to Rowe and Tredders when they were debating whether Hinkley was a good coach?

Rowe went on to say that he would defend Ken and that he has extracted the absolute best out of the players. If the players were lemons, he had squeezed the pips out of them and that there was nothing left to give.

Tredrea simply replied: "Well, then he has coached his best."

I can't find the audio but it was something along those lines.

Tredrea seems to be the only voice of reason in SA. He is not explicitly calling for Hinkley's head but calmly explains that it was not only the players fault (as Whately, Rowe, Rucci, et al would have you believe) but it was a combination of the players and coaching staff, but the buck stops with the Head Coach.

Oh and Warren, I loved your "It's only a six month payout" line after the game.

You need to sort your kids out. Seriously if you were the real deal as a supporter you’d never allow that sort of behaviour. 😳
When i say kids they are adults so it's their choice.
I will pretend i didn't see the insulting part of your post, I couldn't be bothered responding to it.

I heard it all.

He wants Ken gone.

A workmate who also went to the game & left a quarter earlier than me mentioned that stinkley & Schofield had a punch-on at some point that night, with players arguing between one another before the game. If so, then changes MUST be made & hope f**ken falls on his sword
Hang on, you’re trying to say Schofield and Hinkley had an actual punch on and the cameras missed the entire thing?

I hate how this club has to be at its knees before making a hard decision.

Literally can’t just go, “okay you have had 9 years you have had 3 chances to make it and failed. We appreciate what you have done but we’re gunna go a different route now”- strong leadership

no we have to wait until the place is burning down, when come next year when we are 3 wins and 8 loses to finally do what should had been done 4 bloody years ago

After an item on the ABC this morning I decided to look up Port's finals record under Ken Hinkley. In that ABC interview Michelangelo Rucci made the point that Port is 5-5 in finals under Hinkley. At first I did not believe it but after looking up the records he is right.

Since 2013 we have appeared in 5 finals series played 10 matches and won 5 of them. Up until last Saturday our worst loss was by 16 points to Geelong at the MCG in 2013. We lost a Prelim to eventual Premiers Hawthorn by 3 points in 2014 and a Prelim to eventual Premiers Richmond by 6 points last year. In addition in 2017 we lost an Elimination Final to West Coast by 2 points.

Surprisingly under Hinkley we have won 59.6% of 203 games which is actually better than Clarkson (58.5%) or Hardwick's (56.2%) Coaching record.

In the past 9 seasons we have not won a Premiership but neither have Geelong a team that lost by even more than we did last Saturday. Geelon's only upper is that they have made a Grand Final and that was in a year that we defeated them in a Qualifying Final.

The problem is not that we do not win games but more that we do not win the big games but tbh we have been desperately unlucky at times. Maybe a change of Coach would bring us better luck but on the strength of the record above I can see why a numbers man like David Koch would want to stick with Ken Hinkley and as much as it pains me to say it I would be amazed if Hinkley did not at least see his current contract out.
This.

Inspirational.

Looks on the verge of cardiac arrest.

Do your family a favour, Ken. Go.
Hey LHR you come across as being somewhat qualified to speak on Kern and his thinking can you confirm or shoot down a theory I have on him? (anybody else who can weigh in please do)

To me Ken has very little investment in the broader Port Adelaide club, its history, its membership etc.. I don't get a sense at any point he actually truly likes the place or us (generally). That part of his job comes across as very transactional ie you pay me to coach and I coach but I don't have to buy into this other shit..

To me (aside from the obvious priority of family) he really only gives a toss about 'his' players (defined by the blokes he either likes or needs) it wouldnt surprise me at all to find out he really still cares about the Cats and his old footy mates more than the place that's made him a millionaire and invested a decade in his ideas.

is this true?

I don't think this is the case. He just can't win the big games and we don't play the best football after 9 years.

Wow. So when Boak was in tears in the post match interview on 5aa you think he was “faking” it? And you want us to crash and burn next year. Nice.
