In hindsight the Lycett FA pickup has been an absolute disaster. He cost us Ryder and Ladhams who are both better players. He held back the development of Hayes. He arguably cost us the 2020 prelim. We genuinely would have been better off with an empty list spot.

Yep completely agree. I've often spoken with my mates at the footy about this. We'd be no worse off if we'd just kept Ryder and left Lycett at West Coast or let him go to the Crows.

He worked as a 2nd ruck in West Coast's system, and he's a warrior, but he doesn't have the class or consistency to be a 1st ruck and it's repeatedly cost us.

I'd argue we'd be actively better off, not just 'no worse off'.

Trouble makers don't last in Kenny and Kochie's squeaky clean boys club for being good people and making the community proudery. We were close to moving on SPP not long ago too.
I'd be surprised if spp is around in the future. The coaching of him has been deplorable, talk about armature hour player management

I get the feel Hinkley was moving Ladhams on in any scenario.
Geez - you reckon Ladhams is looking forward to round 14??? It's his chance to show Hinkley what a stupid move it was to get rid of him: mark him down for BOG.

Hopefully that never comes to fruition as it would be one helluva indictment on the PAFC management and a complete retreat from the fundamentals that has made Port such a successful club.

In any case, it appears spp has settled into a routine family life.

Agreed re the coaching.

Ruck/forward go for nothing with actual Agility and ball skills then nothing is impossible.

Papa G has a point

Squiggle has us finishing in that 10-14th range what i finf accurate

If he finishes in the upper section of that i could see our limp dick admin saying injuries ect, let him see out his contract

I don't see it myself. We still have Bulldogs and Geelong before the bye. Then after the bye we still have to play Richmond, Sydney, Fremantle, Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood, and Richmond, plus a showdown. I think we'll beat North and Essendon (twice), but i still wouldn't bank the Essendon away game yet. Suns at home i'd be willing to bank now, and probably GWS at home too. Showdown, who knows.

Its one of those things, where yes he has a point, but if I allow myself to think this could happen I may as well just stop following entirely this season because it would make me too angry.

Bulldogs seem like red hot garbage this year too.

We shouldn't be losing to that crows side, especially twice in a year. ****ing Hinkley.

Within the 2015-2019 range (5th-10th); just a bit lower.

We were 9th, 10th, 5th, 10th, 10th (Port Tenthlaide).

Not sure about that but copped some injuries and some of their best players had a down year. They were one of the premiership favourites going into that year.

I have strong memories of it. If it weren’t in 2018, it was in 2019.

I could see us in the 10th-14th bracket, but I can't see us being within striking distance of the 8 as the season goes on. We'll be closer to 8 wins than 11 wins.

The supporters are restless and the executive know how unpopular he is. Best case scenario for him now is still being a mathematical chance to make the 8 with a few rounds to go and getting sacked once that chance is gone, IMO. Our best case scenario is probably getting absolutely brained a couple of weeks in a row by the Saints and Bulldogs and it becomes impossible not to make the call.
