Looking at the ladder I don’t see many senior job opportunities opening up end of next year.

No matter what Ken says about the board and the club backing him in currently if he wants to get some job security for the next 5 years he seriously needs to look elsewhere this year.

If he wants to ride off into the sunset and take the cash he will stay here next year if the club doesn’t move on him, then retire.

If a big fish is getable (Clarko) he will be gone end of year. Can’t imagine the club goes for a rookie - we have to be talking to Clarko though.

PS - hasn’t Davies been quiet?
He will hang around until he has sucked the last tiny bits out of Boak, Grey, Dixon, Jonas & Clurey then he will **** off when that group retire and Amon and others chose to be somewhere else. Port then continues the decade old rebuild and Koch says, see I told use that Ken was the best man to take us forward as port struggles in the bottom 8.

Do we though? I couldn't care less. The Port Adelaide I knew would have laughed him out door long ago.
I want Port to be successful, and he is the coach. So yes, I rather he farked off into the horizon, but while he's here, I would like him to succeed. Success defined as winning a flag, not whatever weak KPI the AFL and Koch concoct.

Even if Hinkley managed to somehow jag a miracle premiership, all evidence that we have to hand suggests he'd pull out the deckchair again and put his feet up. We'd be right back where we started in no time flat.

On a positive note, is it possible by some miniscule chance that the club is trying to secure Clarkson, which would not be an easy task before they decide Donuts future.

I would think Clarko would have many non negotiables and he would want things in place that he needs to win a premiership, assistants and others around him. Maybe this is why we still could be a chance, it could take some good negotiating.

Reading this thread makes me want Ken to succeed.

Narrator: "He didn't"

Im done with wanting him to succeed. I wanted him to succed 5 years ago but not now. A decade is a more than big enough sample size to know that he will never succeed, and now I want him to crash and burn. It's the only way.

If by some miracle he stayed and won a flag next year, I'd be happy for the club and players. I wouldn't be happy for old mate and I'd still think he needs to go

Absolutely wild that all it’s taken is someone putting a sticker on a sign for the media in this town to finally get off their arses and work out that Hinkley’s record is an unprecedented failure.

Wait until they discover we only win 6 out of every 10 games at Adelaide Oval (falling to 5 out of every 10 at night).

Tom Rehn better reinforce that box he stands on.

Really looking forward to starting the Sack (new coach) thread as soon as he's named just to get in early.
Why wait until then? We can start with a few speculative ones:

Sack Clarko
Sack Basset
Sack Schofield
Sack Jordan
...

Everyone has a use-by date. Ken Hinkley has reached his. I reckon Mark Williams had reached his by the end of 2005.

Lauren Arnell has had it too good for too long around here

I want Port Adelaide to be successful. Players and coaches will come and go, and I'll like some of them and dislike others.

Some players and coaches feel like one of us, they become part of this club's enviable tradition, and they'll always be welcome here. Ken Hinkley stopped feeling like a Port Adelaide person in about round 2 2016.

And administrators. Mark Haysman came from a Sturt and cricketing background, but he'd have more Port Adelaide in his fingernail than Koch and Hinkley combined.
