This "playing footy since 1870" pike out has come about from people like Kornes & Whateley moaning about expectation.

They actually listened to it lol fukc me We are Glenelg.

They genuinely believe we’re morons who don’t understand the draft/salary cap system lol.

If you don’t pledge fealty to the Port Pope and the club’s mission statement — We Exist To Remain Friends™ — you are condemned as a heretic and excommunicated!

How did it come to this? Jeeeesus.
If Ken is still coach next year, the club won't have to bother with excommunicating me, because I won't be renewing my membership. Why should I fork out my hard earned dollars to an organisation that doesn't respect my views?

I pledged my money for a guy like Haysman who was fighting the good fight, agitating against the man. Fighting for the good of the club. A head coach that went through hell for PAFC and loved every inch of its fibre and demanded standards regardless of the list and resources he had. Even going to war with the Cornes to do what he felt was right. We didnt get all the results, but no one ever smiled after a loss, and no one ever accepted the performances. For that, it didnt feel like i was throwing good money after bad.

This just feels like you are throwing money at a plastic and soulless entity who accepts its lot and does whatever the AFL tells it to. Extending to the garbage social media presence to all the messaging that ever comes out of the club now.

Your money went to keeping an ailing but proud and determined football club to keep fighting, and overtly doing so.

Now it feels like a corporate machine where every transaction with them is more like brand loyalty than it being a fabric of your life. There is just no "i must keep going we are in this together and we will fight for success even if its a long road". Instead its all "pay your fee, attend your entertainment and if you win you win, if you don't we had fun right?".

It all feels completely disconnected and "us" and "them" because there is no greater motivator and common cause. That is what we exist to win premierships is about. Everyone is after that, the uniting cause, the perpetual build to premierships. None of that happens now. You cant see the vision, the drive or everyone on the same page. Instead we have shyed away from that, distanced ourselves and even erased from our DNA that very thing that kept us all on the same page.

Now its just "playing footy since 1870".
We used to sing NTUA at the AFL and the SANFL.

Now we sing it at Ken, Koch and Richo.

This. Being a Port supporter used to be us (club, players, supporters) versus the rest of the world. We meant something. Now it's us (haters) versus the current regime, Koch, Hinkley and their muppets.
Used to plan our whole lives around the footy. Wouldn't miss a game ever.
Sat the kids down when they were little. "We barrack for Port Adelaide in this house. We're tough. We've got this".
Haven't been to a home game since the club disgraced Russell Ebert instead of honouring him and won't be back until Hinkley is gone.

Stuck record moment.
Yes I've said it before, and I am going to keep saying it. At the pub, out for lunch, at the supermarket, visiting friends/relatives, randomly bailing up strangers with any Power gear on, just spread the word to one and all.
Take your membership off auto renewal, with a phone call and tell them why (politely as they're just doing a job)
We have to be ready to send a message if they do what I expect and keep this lemon.
Then we stage a mass protest at the Club.

This would make a perfect email to the club, if they even bother to read members emails any more.

I wouldn't be surprised if they only respond to positive feedback - anything else is white noise.

Dimma Hardwick has taken the blame for Richmond's loss to the Gold Coast. Has our self-serving coach in his 10 years of coaching our club ever taken blame for a loss?

Yeah, there was one time he waved his fist at the screen in the TAB, threw his ticket in the bin and then ruefully lamented

'Should have backed a faster dishlicker'

This and then the Australia Day thing that people like Festerz still don't understand how that's the opposite of what a footy club is about. We used to welcome everyone under the banner at Port Adelaide from all walks of life and everyone's in it to win and anyone who wanted to join us was welcome no matter background etc, that's all out the window too. Even making the community proud they've ****ed up.
