Surely the end must be in sight. Even without Hinkley there we lose another critical game the same way. Look like we are in control for a small lead, cough up a run of 7 goals, fight back at the end and fall short.

This loss has his fingerprints all over it. Kenny's DNA.

It starts and ends with our very weak, self-interested president.
Absolutely correct, it's bad enough continually losing winnable games with poor selections, game plan, coaching, etc, etc, but having a so called president who clearly knows Sweet F*** All about what makes the club and its supporters tick is (to me) worse than any of the above.

The bloke is a limp wristed klown who has to go before he damages the hard fought reputation of our once great club any more!

Ken's DNA is the grease from the oil vac's at Sotos.

Yes but Melbourne are a great team, the reigning premiers, and it’s a tough competition. If we play like that every round we won’t lose too many games

We don't just need a change of coach - we need a complete culture overhaul. Someone like Clarkson would demand that things be done his way, and he certainly wouldn't care about upsetting people's feelings - please make it happen, footy gods!!!

Ken can't do everything from the back of a laptop Ford, anyway, you're talking 'reason and common sense'.

I did take notice of Bass's face after Kane missed that set shot in the final quarter, almost a resigned 'smirk' as if he's seen it all before.

I still often think back to Kens words last year. "Dont judge us on our home and away season, judge us after finals."

We then get fisted at home in a prelim, as pathetic and embarrassing a display as you will see when so much was in our favour. Pressed post game about it, he goes on to suggest, "it is not the right time to talk about it..." Then, he goes unsighted over summer, bounds back in and says "we are coming" dismissed the embarrassment of season prior, stating that "we must live in the now..." We then go on to be 0-5 with deplorable performances against Hawthorn and Melbourne at home as well the first half against Carlton and the capitulation v Adelaide.

So, we still have not spoken about being judged on finals last year and we didn't live in the now this year until the results went our way.

You could not make this up. This as much on Richo and the board as it is on Ken.

Any time we get 1-2 goals in front I know it’s never long until the opposition pegs back 3-4 goals - generally right before the break in play to kill any momentum built.
After Bergman's third quarter goal yesterday, I told myself to smile and enjoy the next 1-2 minutes of us leading by 10 points, as I knew what was inevitably to come. And it did, in the form of 7 Melbourne unanswered goals. So predictable.

And with respect to this year, we were told to wait until round 22 before being able to judge him.

Do yous remember where we were in 2012?

I mean, we weren't somewhere as bad as Richmond, Melbourne, Brisbane, Western Bulldogs, West Coast, Fremantle, GWS, St Kilda, Collingwood, Hawhtorn, or Carlton, a selection of teams that either eclipsed us or moved on coaches since between now and then, but still. It's where we were that matter. How we fair in regards to other team in a competition doesn't matter. As long as we aren't quite as bad as we used to be, then we are the real winners.

Ken should we judge you on the failure of last year's prelim final or this year's home and away season?

Melbourne, outside of Pickett who didn't seem to have an opponent, were very pedestrian yesterday. Patracca was okay, did some good work around the clearances, but didn't hit the scoreboard at all. Viney was Viney. Good but not great. We actually had 11 of the top 14 possession getters on the ground. We didn't get dominated by Gawn and Jackson. More clearances. More insude 50s. Yet we just couldn't find a way to win. This is Hinkley's DNA. Forget everything else. This is what we are. This is what Hinkley gives us. Generally competitive, but just not good enough when it counts. This is Ken Hinkley. It will never get better. For all the ranting and raving we do over 60,000 posts on why he should be sacked, this is the DNA he has brought. He just can't get us to that next step. If the powers that be don't acknowledge this, they all need to go.

We need a big broom through Alberton. Any remenants of Hinkley need to extricated. Quite simply, he is a loser.

Amen.

I'm going to go all Jurassic here, but at the end of the 1973 season, Bob McLean told Fos Williams his time was up after Port scraped into finals in the first year of the final five and was knocked out by Norwood in the Elimination Final (which incidentally was played at Norwood Oval, only in the sanfl ...)

Fos had guided Port to grand finals in 1971 and 1972 but Port was beaten in both and his kick at all costs style of game was being overrun by fast handball.

We had a lead administrator who could sniff the breeze and knew the direction to take. He was truly ruthless and interested only in Port Adelaide's success. And he is legendary for achieving it.

These days, I don't know what it is we stand for.

There's no reason why any of the current club leaders should be there next year. Koch, Hinkley and Jonas have all had more than enough time and have proven incapable of taking us to the promised land. Richardson hasn't had much time but is an obvious loser and has to go too.

Yeah, but that’s just the view of a vocal minority
