It'll be amazing if all talk no action Koch ultimately gets rid of Hinkley by accident because he publicly announced he was refusing to do anything. That took the pressure off against a pleb team Port then smashed. Making them steal Clarkson from North just as he's about to pickup his signing pen, who 'poach' Hinkley from Port, giving them the out they desperately wanted.

Ken always said you get what you deserve. We deserve better than Koch's inaction.
And because they “poach” our under contract coach, they have to give us some form of compensation. It’s all coming together.

Geez haven’t the media changed their tune in less than a week. Absolute hypocrites.

Ben Rutten hung out to dry in only his second season with yes you heard a year to run on his contract. Meanwhile Hinkley glowingly endorsed by all and sundry to take on his 11th season.

We couldn’t possibly afford to pay out hinkleys final year, despite every other club having no issues with it.

Ungrateful for even daring to question his hinkleys position because he has a year to run on his contract. “Port need to honour hinkleys contract” despite every other club having no issues with parting ways with coaches with a year to go.

Kochie blasted for saying not much other than we’ll review the program and results need to get better. But Essendon are ruthless for giving their coach and president the arse and making an 11th hour play for Clarkson.

What in the actual fk is going on? They are literally all trolling the **** out of us and it’s working. This is madness.

I don't think it's likely, but the media did their part to keep good guy Ken employed because he's barely had a chance with only 10 years and deserves more time, especially with a year to go on his contract. I think they can give it a real shot to get that horrible Rutten sacked who has wasted a disgraceful 2 seasons in charge, only made finals in 1 year and proven he's not up to it and has to go, especially with just 1 year left on his contract.

If North Melbourne don't get Clarkson, they would definitely look at Hinkley.
Hinkley would be good for the Roos as he was with us in the early days. His deficiencies lie in the latter years, post the early rebuild in which overall game strategy and game day tactics come to the fore.

Footy class speculating, if Essendon snatch clarkson, could roos make play for hinks with big offer. kornes reckons we would let him go.
This could really revitalise Polec's career

I think North will go after Hinkley. Let’s face it our consistently mid table results with a prelim every 3-4 years would be a dream for them right now. They’re probably not too dissimilar to us circa 2011-12.

The funny thing will be watching Koch get played by Hinkley once again. 2017 contract, 22 performance clause, backs Hinkley in and ignores Clarkson only for Hinkley to walk elsewhere after Clarko has already been stitched. Kochie is just finding new ways to embarrass himself as a chairman, you’d think he would be over continually getting his arse handed to him on a plate.

Hinkley bangs on about being a man of his word and loyalty but he will give the club the arse as soon as another job is offered to him. That won’t be a bad thing but it’s still annoys me because it just further highlights how weak our administration is.

North will come for Hinkley and Koch will be spooked and offer him another 5 year contract and announce it on the "Inner Sanctum" via 7 News.

They'd look, snicker a bit, then move on.

But if they were stupid enough, North not seeming to be big on selection processes would be in Ken's favour, not having to go through an interview/presentation where he scrawls "work harder for longer" on a whiteboard and then stands there awkwardly while the panel waits for elaboration that never comes.

I will sign back up to my membership just so I can cancel it again.

This is what the thread title should be. The current one sounds like if Ken doesn't fail then he can stay on as coach. The truth is, we want him out now, no ifs or buts.
Nah the current one is a double play...

1. Making fun of one of the most ridiculous things Kochie has ever said, that wins in dead rubbers against bottom teams could somehow overturn 10 years of underperformance

2. That we need to turn this thread around or we will need to watch out too

Its hilarious

If Hinkley doesn't walk while there are job opportunities else where is a massive red flag for us.

We all know how he likes the security of knowing his future, so does that mean an extension is being discussed, or has one already been put in place if finals are achieved next season?

I still don't see him sticking around without that long term security and while other clubs are looking for a coach, common sense says he walks, unless our ego maniac in Koch has gone and done something even dumber than than before.

for Kochie and the boards sake North would want to take Ken if Clarko goes to the bombers - otherwise they have to realise they want us to see out a contact with a guy nobody is interested in…..

Which is what I think will happen.

Maybe there are better options out there.

Buckley, Leon Cameron, senior assistants etc…..

Maybe Ken stays because he’s been able to hide in our club for so long.

Remember ‘last man standing’

Did Leon Cameron turn our job down that Ken got? Years ago….
