Right coach if we’d pushed him out for someone younger, sharper and smarter circa 2016/17.

If you view his 13/14 through the prism of Paul Roos parachuting in to rehabilitate the Demons after Neeld (Primus) with a preset succession plan to hand the keys to Goodwin (Schofield?) to finish the job, he would’ve been a home run.

But clinging to him for 5 full seasons of failure and waste after those first 2 years was quite possibly the dumbest thing a Port Adelaide administration has ever done.

The fact the club had convinced itself it not only had the right man, but was on the cusp of a dynasty founded in cuddles and analytics is genuinely laughable, looking back.

I’ll repeat. The immediate post-Hinkley/Koch Era will be tough. The club will go down in flames; because that’s what was planted. We will only harvest it.
