You know, I’m obviously one of his harshest critics — but fair play to Kenny™ given his three-plus decades in the caper, us NPC’s could only dream of being imbued with such an intricate philosophical outlook on the club and its current position.

You're still equating the 2023 side with the mentally fragile side of 2013-2017. Butters, Rozee and even Horne-Francis are more consistent with their performances than Wingard and Polec ever were.

They went away from doing the little things that makes wins possible against a Collingwood team that at that time were running on top of the ground and were playing at a completely different level.

Against Adelaide, they were in the contest for three quarters and were probably a goal away from breaking them open, but again this was a tactical selection error rather than a motivational one. From the AFL Timeline:

This is why we dropped Bonner and Clurey from the side and moved Byrne-Jones to sub the next week and brought in Williams and McKenzie and shifted Bergman from wing to defence. From that game on we became one of the best sides in the competition for scoring from the defensive half.

So why did we lose to Adelaide in the return match? Probably because it was in the middle of a four match run against Carlton away, Collingwood home and Geelong away and you can't be up for every single match in a 23 game season. It wasn't exactly 2015 losing to Brisbane and Carlton, was it?
All teams want to win and no team plays better because a snake oil salesman pushes their buttons properly.

Any talk of Hinkley the oracle should be filed under B for bullshit like most of the other stuff.

Correct,it all comes down to the guys on the ground.
They don’t perform team will lose no matter who’s coaching.

I can't believe people in this thread are equating the mentally fragile side of 2013-2023 round 21 with the 2023 round 22 onwards side am I right?

He does this patronising thing where he answers like:
What do you need to do for the team to win tonight Kenny?

"Well score more than the opposition obviously"

To the guffaws and snorts of the commentary team.

The implication is: well my genius mind could explain the intricacies of our game plan but Youse wouldn't understand

When in reality he has no ****ing idea what he's doing, but it's a good bluff.

Meanwhile, that speech was given in R1 when we smashed Brisbane. You know, the game that you lot gave us no hope of winning.

I don’t give a flying * if it inspires you. The players responded and that’s all that matters to me.

I want to hear his Bulldogs PF speech.

Braveheart to the core I’d say.

Can anyone else see hinkley messing this finals campaign up.
I have zero confidence in this muppett.
The major elements that will help in finals this year compared to recent years will be a changing of the guard from Boak, Wines, etc to Rozee, Butters and the Hornet who are match winners in the midfield and that although it is still the Kenny Hinkley Footy Club that his super poor tactics and strategies will be thrown asunder and Josh Carr is able to work some magic there.

Once again, our winning will generally be in spite of his lameness. A very difficult handicap but not impossible.

Are you seriously suggesting that a team with 6 players out of the best 22 losing to Geelong at their shitty stadium was somehow “mentally fragile”?

The Bulldogs beat them just last night without Bailey Smith, Jack Macrae, Sam Darcy, Jason Johanissen and Taylor Duryea. And they might not even make finals.

We’re probably in a far better place as underdogs nobody expects to get the W (at the Gabba or the MCG) than facing a cutthroat game under lights at home — the last such victory coming in the 2004 Prelim.
