4 losses in a row - 3 of which were against teams sitting outside the 8 to start that round.

This team is no where near contending for a flag this year - they have the personnel but an inept coach, why that is so hard for some to comprehend I have no idea.

And then to top it off with the gaslighting crap from Kane this morning on the Sunday Footy Show - it makes you wonder when this is ever going to end?
It ends for me when and if it is announced that Potato brain gets an extension, he's already robbed me of 11 years, enough is enough. The whole club can look on at other clubs making tough decisions to get their club into GF, doing what their members and sponsors pay them to do.

I've been doing some research and I have email addresses for all/most club directors. Some verified, others very likely. DM me if you want the list. It's all publicly available, so not breaking any laws. If you email them, be polite please.

It's quite staggering to think how many mistakes the Board of Directors have made over the last decade with respect to Ken's tenure at the Club.

A 4 year deal to start was fine - because it was blatantly obvious the Club needed to give their next coach time to go on what appeared to be quite the rebuilding process, though it was also acknowledged there were some reasonable pieces there to begin with.

Mistake #1: Extending Ken before the start of the 2015 season despite having 2 years remaining on his deal. No need to extend him at that point. If you want a feel good moment just increase his salary for the remaining two years on his deal, don't give a bloody extension. Had the Club not extended Ken at that point, Ken would likely have ended his tenure at the end of the 2016 season (the end of his initial contract) coming off the back of 2 consecutive missed finals appearances.

Mistake #2: Extending Ken after 2017 season. 1 finals series in 3 years, zero finals wins in that time, and somehow the Club rolled over and gave this man a 2 year extension (on top of the year remaining on his contract) with a kicker for a 3rd year if they made finals just once during that time. Not to mention nearly doubling his wage to become one of the highest paid coaches in the league. An indefensible contract and one which should have seen mass changes at the Club at Board level.

Mistake #3: Extending Ken before the start of the 2021 despite still having a year left to run on his deal. At the time Ken was contracted for just the one season (season 2021). The Board wanted to do a one year extension keeping Ken till the end of 2022, but Richo had just become CEO and he pushed for Ken to get a two year extension, which the Board agreed to. Had the Board stuck to its own opinion, Ken would have only received a one year extension, and having missed finals in 2022, would no longer be the coach of the Club. Compounding this issue, the Club reduced Ken's salary a fraction in exchange for not including the 6 month payout clause which has become custom for seemingly every new coaching contract.

The Port Adelaide Network is wide and vast. It has so many smart and successful minds at all levels of business. How many more mistakes is it going to take for this current Board to make before a group of prominent people within the Network finally say "no more" and attempt to kick Koch and co out?

Umpiring was atrocious, apparent illness in the side and the players gave a massive effort.
And the coach was laughing with the oppo captain after the game like he wanted the blokes autograph?
I don't even support PA and I was ****ing angry at that. He's just along for the ride, this bloke. Never won anything and it doesn't look like it hurts him.

Just saw it. Rest of the panel ripped into him for it and rightly so.
The ever unbiased Kane cornes

Bulldogs lose to in form Collingwood: “I’m not sure how much further evidence the Western Bulldogs board needs not to sit down and have some serious discussions about the coach at the end of the year”

Port lose 4 in a row, 3 to teams outside of the top 8: Hinkley deserves another three years, that loss was basically a win, etc

Any one with social media accounts, FB, Twitter, Instagram please post this every where. Honestly what on earth could they be saying to get the reactions on their smug faces.

I don't know how you do it Kenny, another extension, these Port people are so ******* stupid.

Holy shit! I mean look at the smile. That's not a half smile exchanging pleasantries. WTAF!

This bloke is literally taking the pi55

KG " I'd like to see ken get a extention"
People who profess to hate Port Adelaide like Cornes and Cunningham have a repressed urge deep in their psyche to be one of us. They continue to support Hinkley as the physical embodiment of their wish fulfilment fantasy about an outsider becoming a part of the club's fabric and rising to the top. They will continue to support him, not out of a desire to see Port Adelaide fail but out of what they could've become if they lived their life over again.

tl;dr Cornes dresses up as Hinkley when no-one's at home.

Whilst we hear about the Port Adelaide network, why hasn't anything been done already? For the life of me I will never understand.

Who's to say that nothing has been tried?

Ok, I've had to repost the Monkey Paw Curse as the original thread is now locked.

Here's a fun scenario:

Koch & Co begin negotiations with Hinkley's agent for a 2-3 year extension :whitecheck:.

We lose to Carlton :whitecheck:, Collingwood :whitecheck:, and the Crows :whitecheck:.

Carr interviews for the Richmond job :whitecheck: (reported that Carr's manager was contacted by Richmond, not told 'no'. We won't know if or when the interview happens. For the purposes of dramatic effect, I'm counting this as a tick until proven otherwise)

Ken's extension gets announced in the first week of August, right before our Geelong game :whitecheck: (no official announcement but reports that KH has a two year contract with incentives for a third. Will change this if it turns out to be incorrect), which we lose :whitecheck:.

We beat Giants :whitecheck: and Freo :whitecheck: , and lose to Richmond :crossmark: , to finish the season with 16 wins and 7 losses. :crossmark: (finished with 17 wins and 6 losses)

Going into finals with Dixon :whitecheck: , Lycett :whitecheck:, Aliir :whitecheck:, JHF :crossmark:, and McKenzie :whitecheck: under injury clouds.
(Aliir with knee injury in the week prior to QF. Nothing official about JHF but there is clearly something restricting him. Additional injury clouds: Williams, Marshal, Visentini, & Jonas.)

Underdone backups in:
Lord :crossmark: (while he only got a few games in the lead up to finals, he fired up in the QF)
Hayes :whitecheck:
Fantasia :whitecheck:
Visentini :whitecheck:

Jonas is back as a regular in the side. :whitecheck: :crossmark: (with McKenzie going down with a PCL, you know this is going to pan out so I'm giving it a tick early. Update: TJ was back in the side but didn't get to play a final due to calf injury. I'm going to give this a half/half mark.)

Play Collingwood :crossmark: in the first QF and lose :whitecheck: (played Brisbane at The Gabba and lost)

Play Adelaide :crossmark: in the SF and lose. :whitecheck: (Thanks to Sydney and the Goal umpire! We now play GWS at Adelaide Oval)

Richmond announce Carr as their head coach for 2024. :crossmark: (Carr pulls out of the Richmond job saying he wants to stay at Port)

Dixon :crossmark: (confirmed a one year extension),
Lycett, :whitecheck: (Very low ball offer on table, most likely playing for Port Districts in '24),
Boak, :questionwhite:(Line ball. If no offer from Port then will likely retire),
McKenzie :crossmark: (signed a 1 year extension), and
Clurey, :whitecheck: (no news is bad news. Injured, no trade value, younger replacements being sought... gone)
... all announce their retirements.

Hinkley windmills his way to his shuttered oasis. :whitecheck: (No word from Donuts since Saturday night. I'm going to confidently marke this one as correct)

We wake up in February and go through the whole nightmare again. :crossmark: (Not this time Ports. Not this time)

Edit: checking off things as they occur, or are reported in the media.

Jonas is trash, surely they saw that last night.

With Aliir and Jones back, (perhaps Bergman) I'm sure he will be dropped.

we need to get our license into independent hands or another Koch will hire another Hinkley, Jonas will become another Kornes, it all stems from vanilla AFL control
