Sorry to intrude, but Cornes is on fire on the "Sunday Footy Show".

"Some games you lose, but you treat as a win and I'd be doing that if I was Port Adelaide ... they went and played the reigning premier at Geelong!"
Yep that's all part of the systemic expectation-lowering that goes on in these parts at this time of year.

In 2022 we were told that nothing less than a GF is acceptable, and by August we're told to be contented with 11th.

Now it's "it doesn't matter if you lose if you count it as a win". Yeah, right. Even oppo supporters call this stuff out.

Jonas can't even keep his feet in a light summer breeze anymore. If we are playing him over literally any other defensive option it's for optics only, surely. As bad as our defenders in the SANFL are i'd like to see them out there than this waste of time and space.

Umpiring was atrocious, apparent illness in the side and the players gave a massive effort.
And the coach was laughing with the oppo captain after the game like he wanted the blokes autograph?
I don't even support PA and I was ******* angry at that. He's just along for the ride, this bloke. Never won anything and it doesn't look like it hurts him.
Cheers. A more Port Adelaide view than we've seen from anyone at our Club in recent times. If neutral supporters can see this, what are our **** board doing about it??

As long as these fools keep rocking up and paying memberships, nothing will change.

It's not a popular thing to say I know but if we are all serious about bring change and getting our club back, it is the only way the club will take notice.

If Hinkley gets a new contract the club will be a mess by the end of his stint and we will be left to pick up the pieces.

we need to get our license into independent hands or another Koch will hire another Hinkley, Jonas will become another Kornes, it all stems from vanilla AFL control

Absolutely second this, no idea how or what's involved in the longer term, it all starts at the top, the standards have slipped so so far from the vision Fos had laid out.

Ok, I've had to repost the Monkey Paw Curse as the original thread is now locked.
Here's the link to the original.

Here's a fun scenario:

Koch & Co begin negotiations with Hinkley's agent for a 2-3 year extension :whitecheck:.

We lose to Carlton :whitecheck:, Collingwood :whitecheck:, and the Crows :whitecheck:.

Carr interviews for the Richmond job :whitecheck: (reported that Carr's manager was contacted by Richmond, not told 'no'. We won't know if or when the interview happens. For the purposes of dramatic effect, I'm counting this as a tick until proven otherwise)

Ken's extension gets announced in the first week of August, right before our Geelong game :whitecheck: (no official announcement but reports that KH has a two year contract with incentives for a third. Will change this if it turns out to be incorrect), which we lose :whitecheck:.

We beat Giants :questionwhite: and Freo :questionwhite:, and lose to Richmond :questionwhite:, to finish the season with 16 wins and 7 losses.

Going into finals with Dixon, Lycett :whitecheck:, Aliir, JHF, and McKenzie :whitecheck: under injury clouds.

Underdone backups in Lord :questionwhite:, Hayes :questionwhite:, Fantasia :whitecheck:, and Visentini :crossmark: (I think we can safely say that Dante is getting games until Lycett has recovered from surgery).

Jonas is back as a regular in the side. :whitecheck: (with McKenzie going down with a PCL, you know this is going to pan out so I'm giving it a tick early)

Play Collingwood in the first QF and lose :questionwhite:

Play Adelaide in the SF and lose. :questionwhite:

Richmond announce Carr as their head coach for 2024. :questionwhite:

Dixon :crossmark: (reported to have signed a two year extension but nothing seems to be official. Will correct once confirmed), Lycett, Boak, McKenzie, Clurey, all announce their retirements.

Hinkley windmills his way to his shuttered oasis.

We wake up in February and go through the whole nightmare again.

Edit: checking off things as they occur, or are reported in the media.
I think you can also tick off the one about him windmilling from his safe place.

You're right, but I was just thinking of reasons why he hasn't had more support. He deserves it.
We both could be right... 🤷‍♂️

Makes ya wonder where are all the ex players coaches anyone... Because they can't be happy with what we have become.

Our standards used to be so high (the creed for example) and that's what made us who we are/were.

I've been doing some research and I have email addresses for all/most club directors. Some verified, others very likely. DM me if you want the list. It's all publicly available, so not breaking any laws. If you email them, be polite please.
Send pls

I wish there were more past players who have the same amount of passion and guts to speak out about the direction of our club and the lowering of the standards and expectations of the Port faithful.

Plenty of players have expressed private support of Warren's thinking. But too many enjoy the arse kissing and back slapping they get from the Club. A lot of players also have direct ties to the Club, whether they are members of the football committee, Club ambassadors, have relatives who are employed or sponsor the Club etc. It's not so straight forward just to say "yeah Ken's gotta go."

The people who like the arse kissing back slapping ect need to go as well..

As for ones with relatives employed in the club* I understand stuck between a rock and a hard place... But at some stage ya need to stand up and go "yeah Ken's gotta go"

*Unfair dismissal is still a thing... But that's something I personally wouldn't want to do to the club I love.

I did think about it. It's probably the most certain pick of all of them.
