Now it is time for the Frankston Rover Award. The award for service to the league as chosen by the Administrator. As far as Season 35 goes, I should really say it is time to give the Frankston Rover Awards with an 'S' because this award was designed so that we can acknowledge efforts in doing the hard work that makes this league a better place and in Season 35 it is a rare instance where the efforts of multiple people are so outstanding over the course of the season that it would be unfair to exclude any one of them from such recognition.

Frankston Rover Award Winner - Broken

The first individual that I want to acknowledge by awarding the FRA to is the Hall of Fame Immortal Broken. On the eve of Season 35, I was informed by Ljp86 that changes in circumstances mean that he can no longer update the ladder and stats in a timely manner at a satisfactory quality. Ljp86 has done a great job on the ladder updates for 20+ seasons and it is an extremely tough act to follow. But on short notice, Broken had picked up the ladder thread, taken ownership and even added his own spin on it with fancy graphics and links, updating them reliably and with great quality. He is also responsible for all the vote graphics for this presentation!

Given the extraordinary efforts Broken has given in various statistical projects, it would surprise many to learn that Broken had only received one FRA previously. I don't believe that accurately reflects the contributions he has made in service of the league so this is a well overdue recognition for his commitment.

Congratulations Broken!

Frankston Rover Award Winner - TheInjuryFactory

Another player that I wish to recognise is TheInjuryFactory, not only does flashy media threads but is one of the most reliable, dedicated workers in doing the grunt work that elevates the presentation and quality of various initiatives that I want to run. Need jumper designs for Heritage Round on short notice? I reach out to TIF and he gets it done no problems. Need to put together a presentation for a brand new launch of State of Origin Series? TIF smashes the graphics out quickly to great quality. Need to put on a charity game? TIF is on it.

After my efforts to destroy his beloved team sheet rules I wouldn't blame him at all if he were to tell me to * off on each occasion I've asked something of him but he is a consumate professional and absolutely deserving of a second FRA.

Frankston Rover Award Winner - Wosh

Last but certainly not least, is one of the genuine superstars I have been honoured to see go about her work across the entire journey - Wosh. As a site administrator, she does a power of unheralded work behind-the-scenes to make this league run so much smoother. Not only does she dedicate time to post games every Sunday, she organises badges, committee access, tagging capabilities along with providing leadership on plenty of initiatives, helping struggling clubs out in their recruitment efforts. Heritage Round, she helped out in posting the Legends games and even brought back Frankston Rover! The most notable is her brilliant work on our tour of the General Discussion Board Charity Tour where she set up the fundraising page, coordinated with the GD mods, pulled together a team of GD board members to partake in our tour game and drive engagement.

Given her efforts over the journey, it comes as a big surprise that she's never received this honour named after the Wombat - well now I think it's time we correct that record.

Brilliant work Wosh!

Bloody great effort to two former Coney Island captains in TheInjuryFactory & Wosh as well as friend of Coney Island Warriors captain Broken for your deserving recognition. People like you make this the place it is.

Note: Apologies to okeydoke7, the usual Committee deadlock means that the TFLUA-Tiger Award remains named after TLFUA-Tiger. A revision to the Prospect Vale's Finest Award will be revisited next season.

I was actually hoping to repurpose this award to recognise non-premium playing positions and those who really dominate those less fancied roles.

However, sometimes a player is just so much better than everybody in that role that they are simply too good to ignore.

Therefore the TFLUA-Tiger Award will be received by a man who has already collected an award tonight - gab213. We all know that he's the leading goalkicker for Season 35, but he was SO FAR AHEAD of everybody else that the season is not just worthy of one but TWO awards.

In Season 35, gab213 finished on 73 goals after the Home and Away Season, the runner up in the Fred count was Dory_77 with 63 goals. That means that Gab213 was 15.873% better than the next best player in his position. Thus, he repeats the feat that Tarkyn_24 achieved in Season 27 claiming both the Fred Medal and the TFLUA-Tiger Award on the same night!

Congratulations to gab213

Cheers Bob. I left doing the graphics pretty late, so I must have missed them, so appreciate you getting to it. Apologies to Mofra and SBYM.

It was only Warriors Players

I'm just happy that you used a common font.

And for all the other stuff you do, but mainly that.

Your ratio is pretty solid tho ND. Nothing speaks more than a positive ratio.

Glad to see you discovering other boards on this site. Keep at it.

Round 15

By omgfridge

Fixture 15 of the S35 season was one of the rounds of all time.

Demons v Bombers

Mount Buller having a season only the Furies could dream of came up against the always politically correct Baghdad Bombers. The Demons stormed out with a 6 goal opening quarter and then chose the interesting strat of rolling over completely. Bombers meanwhile decided to employ a rather effective strategy of playing out the next 3 quarters securing a much deserved W. Pugs are usually known for their breathing problems, however, Pugsley barely broke a wrinkle (or with pugs would it be a crinkle?) as he smashed home 5 goals in a dominant 135 DT display. Jabba73 was very strong in a handball happy display along with ArdentEagle who showed no display of AFL - SFA club connection. Johnny Karate and Hate apparently played well for the Demons but as I suspect in other Mobbs medal write ups, less said about them the better.

Headless failed to make any substantial contribution for the Demons.

Dragons v Gumbies

Flying lizards may of focused on false merger plans during this match as they let the Gumbies have their way with them like the Old Boys getting a rise out of DenieD. For three quarters this was a competitive affair until the Gumbies went Sicko Mode and trampled their airborne compatriots. Barrybran must of applied the CRC to the old joints as he provided a MVP performance. Brick Loosener also played well but is probably figuring out if the above trample reference is Magic the Gathering related (its actually more a terrible ill-tasted joke about a concert). serial_thrilla apparently unretired this game to play a decent gig for the Dragons.

Phoenix v Bears

Perennial gamblers of the league the Las Vegas Bears didn't have the odds fall on their side for this one a crushing 3 point loss to the Phoenix. While no-one should point the finger, you could argue Senor M, Broken and I Dont Care combining for 21 fantasy points put in rather fraudulent performances. Catsnlakers should take the 3 votes with Eevee enthusiast por_please_ya a chance after a decent game too.

Coney Island Warriors v Roys FFC

In a game where the defences took the game off, saw finals bound Wazzas win with 20 of the 38 goals kicked. In a performance surely demanding all-sfa pantskyle had a monster 130 point game. Mesc was also dominant as was The Filth Wizard who kicked 7 sausage rolls. Runk and Phar Ace toiled hard for 100+ DT games.

Ophidian Old Boys FFC v Fighting Furies

In a glorious result from The Furies, they strategically managed to get the loss against their Bombers-lite offspring. This is despite NaturalDisaster, JyeDye, crazywildhorse, Bovo and omgfridge not getting the memo putting in a shift in the engine room. The Old Boys were led by legend of their club Greenery - one would imagine he has a great future ahead with them. Mrs Turbo, Robertio and SaintBilly did the rest of the heavy lifting.

Gold City Royals v Sin City Swamprats

Cadsky's 25 fantasy points looked to provide the difference as the Royals cruised to victory over the Rats. It was a rather underwhelming game overall fantasy wise but hotchilli looked to continue his strong season. Brazilian flare player GremioPower and widely respected former admin Ant Bear were the best for the Swampies.

Bye: West Coast Wonders

Fighting Furies v Gumbies FFC

In what became a bit of a clinic, GWS Goose's bum will be a bit sore after having it solidly kicked by omgfridge. - 99m from 0 to 99.

Not sure why the above highlight stood out but it seemed important. Fridge, ShaunDuggan, NaturalDisaster and Bovo all had big influeneces. Veteran Grockadoc also wound the clock back with a 100+ fantasy point game. In the 11 goal loss, Brick Loosener, Falconista and AJMLaird all at least tried.

Mount Buller Demons v West Coast Wonders

In a result that shocked no-one, the Demons lost again. Honorable mention to Bluelegs with a special -1 fantasy point game. Throughly thrashed by Yakker who finished on 3. Tarkyn_24 was their lone bread winner. Rookie sensation Rioli2Rioli and hectic cheese producer damicky were the Wonders who enjoyed playing against the Mount Buller Witches Hats.

Headless failed to make any substantial contribution for the Demons -- Because he was wisely omitted.

East Side Phoenix v Baghdad Bombers

It was an insipid Phoenix who rolled over for gab213 (7 goals) and Pugsley (105 dt) who set the standard. JustaBattler while unlikely for votes did chip in with an impressive 4 goals. MP_ had 126 fantasy points, 1 point for very post he makes on day 1 of a WW game. Again it was left to co-skipper por_please_ya to try and stop the Bahgdad onslaught. Slightly head of her counterpart thewizardmelon on 9 points.

Las Vegas Bears v Dragons FFC

It was Bradesmaen and DragoDelph who Dragon gif posted their way to a win over the Bears with some impressive scores. Brades surely walks away with the 3 votes. Strigoi named ruck named ruck with 1 solitary hitout tried their best to keep the Bears in it. Electronic_Renaissance, Millky95 and Supersuns could yet steal some votes for the losing side.

Gold City Royals v Coney Island Warriors

It was a thriller with the Royals collecting the chocolates with rookie Membling showing the rest of their team how its done. GreyCrow led the way in the ruck (97 points) with krakouers -3 game at the other end of the spectrum with a performance only a Furie would be proud of. Agent93 really did put the rest of his team on his shoulders with a 127 point game. Dinsdale potentially grabbed the umps eye with 8 tackles.

Sin City Swamprats v Roys FFC

In what could also be described as a crime scene, the Rats belted the Roys to the tune of 80 points. Like enthusiast Power Raid, GremioPower, spookism and Ticky009 all feasted on their timid opponents. In a bleak day JackNah_8 and 3KZ is Football at least turned up. Not much else can be said as this was effectively Mike Tyson punching on with Napoleon Dynamite.
