The way the AFL media industry go on after a sacking, you’d think the club that has done it has committed a murder.

It’s such a fishbowl compared to other sports when it comes to media. They are all mates with the coaches so can’t make tough calls when writing.

You read the main board thread about Ratts and you see this hand-wringing around any coach that is sacked has spread to the fans as well. It’s ridiculous.

I’ve shared this article a few times but it best illustrates just how cushy a job is for AFL coaches compared to other professional sports.
