There's nothing better than reading all about it after a win. Yipee. By Monday it will be all about Carlton so enjoy it while you can.

Paywalled:

Herald Sun article is almost exclusively about Carlton and when they do mention the Swans it was about Buddy. A pretty pathetic match review but what else do you expect when we beat a big Melbourne team - there is literally nothing to to cut & paste into this post.

Wasn't entirely sure whether this fit under swans media or former player thread, but ended up posting it here as it would give some insight into how McDonald would have felt last year (only he probably would have felt worse than Armstrong given he was the #1 choice until GF team selection).

Thought it was an interesting insight.

Thanks for that, really good and interesting to listen to, his take on psychology I found particularly interesting.
Always liked Tony and so happy to see him doing well post footy.

I enjoy reading Gemma Bastiani's articles.

She's more analytical than most print journos and as a bonus she's a Swans supporter.
Mind you having Gulden BOG is a bit of a puzzler.

Love the last lines where John says he doesn't give a rats what journalists write about Heeney or his players. Keep it all in house and give them absolutely nothing!
I agree, we owe the media nothing. But the one down side to it is that when injuries aren't disclosed to the public and form inevitably suffers because of it, it can lead to players being unfairly criticised and maligned.

Valid point you raise, although disclosure of injuries for named players could result in opponents gaining an advantage by targeting an injured area in a game.

I'm sure the club are aware of any impact injuries have on player form and don't particularly care about external critism either from fans or media.

The upside of being outside the footy hothouse is we don't get the negative scrutiny that a Melbourne team would if, for example, they lost six games out of seven.

The parochialism is terrible for our game and we'd all be better off if half the Melbourne sides killed themselves but let's just enjoy the positives of not getting obsessive one-dimensional 24/7 coverage from those morons.

Not sure if McInerney always sounds like he’s three sheets to the wind but this interview really made me laugh.
