Not surprised at today's result. They haven't been near their best since about July.

Their best footy earlier this season always looked unsustainable to me. A little too dependant on midfielders to kick goals, and their tall forwards are inconsistent due to being young and inexperienced. They can be unstoppable when they get momentum but I always thought it would be hard for them to get going against Brisbane today.

The problem is Longmire does not value in and under midfielders. It means we lose the clearances in big ways in finals.

Heeney, Warner, Gulden are not really in and under midfielders and if you can't get your hands on the ball first it makes it difficult.

Which is why not picking Taylor Adams was baffling. When they picked him up and Grundy in the pre-season, I instantly had Sydney as favs, as the inside mid bull is what Taylor Adams is and what they needed. Don't really understand what was the point in getting him if you think he isn't in the best 23, which he is.

Agreed in a sense, Logan McDonald was incredibly selfish to declare himself fit, Longmire shouldn't have believed him. Poor form by McDonals he was a liability today

The question is though, what is the point of making those Grand Finals if you are incapable of winning them? No one is in this competition to come second, and ultimately 2nd is just as bad as 18th when it comes to the history books. There won't be any "second place reunions" in 20 years time, just like the Richmond side won't have an 18th place reunion in 20 years time.

and too stubborn. We have had the same issues with clearances for over a decade and he refuses to acknowledge that his lack of interest in that area of the game was/is a mistake.

Doesn't surprise me. Other than the first half of the first quarter Brisbane were able to move the ball very easily without much resistence.

Either way not good, especially considering how much more of the ball Brisbane had.

Brisbane had around 20% more ball than us and somehow despite that also had 30% more tackles.
