MRP / Trib. Tex vs MRP/Tribunal

The vitriol for Walker on the main board means he has made it as a player. Remember how much Brereton and Lockett were despised by opposition supporters.

No doubt about that, Tex, Jack Reiwoldt, Darling and Hurley are the next generation of gun forwards in the AFL.

I see this argument as the only possible defence for Tex.

One of the reasons that the tackle got out of control was that while Tex was trying to dump him, Morris actually raises his lower half because he tries to kick the ball in the middle of that tackle. If he doesn't do this, it probably doesn't turn out to be the almost spear tackle that it was. I say almost, because it was Morris's shoulder that made the initial contact with the ground.

That would definitely be the way I would play it if I was Tex. Whether that works with the MRP or tribunal god only knows - its been a genuine raffle of late.
Good observation. We need you on the defence team!

I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that this Tex fella you have over there is really starting to make himself noticed. The kicking and the flinging into the goalpost and then the old spear tackle. Just wondering if he has the rep over there as the crows hardman on and off the field.
I know our little guy in Kingy who has done this sort of silly stuff on the field on has a bit of a rep definitely loves going at off the field at the drop of the hat. Most clubs have one that can go abit just wondering if big Tex is the one for the Crows.
Looks as if he would have some ability in this area.

it's fantastic to have a player who polarises fans so much, and you are right he has made - unlike most most players the insults to Walker aren't performance related they are simply "he's a shit bloke".

I am warming to the idea that there is a plausible defence here. Morris definately contributed to the momentum by trying to kick the ball back over his head while Walker had hold of him. You could almost see Tex trying to figure out how to immobile him.
I still thinly he is in lots of trouble though. I had to watch it about a hundred times to come up with that.

If the AFC don't explore every option, I'll be reconsidering my membership

there are only so many times I can sit and watch an administration bend over.

He's certainly pushing boundaries, but the post thing last week people who didn't watch it have just jumped on the bandwagon to hang him for anything minor. He wasn't even looking at the player or post when he pushed him so how he was supposed to intentionally do it I'll never know. He's not a designated hard man but he's certainly trying to be the in your face kind of player. He was copping his fair share from Rance and last week Scott Thompson, it's about time forwards give as good as they get.

Think hes gone. Seems like people are confusing the sling and the spear and Tex was guilty of a 'nearly' spear. If it was Jack doing that to Smith we would be up in arms and the spear is something that needs to be made an example of. 3 weeks I think and a good time to bring the ranga back in.

Very good point, depending on what happens I hope we bring in some body momentum experts to argue that the tackle would not have been as bad if Morris had not attempted to kick, it sure looked like it shifted his momentum backwards which is where Tex was also falling (basically ended up Tex assisting Morris to perform a backflip). I don't see how they can call it a spear tackle when Tex was falling to the ground as well - they bloody didn't label Nahas' effort as a spear but the player he was tackling ended up head first in the ground! It should just be labelled an unfortunate combination of events and move on, but its more likely they will throw the book at him.:(

so was it a spear or not? you cant get suspended for nearly doing something wrong.

I'm pretty sure if he gets sighted, which he will, we'll challenge it. Vader seems the guy to answer this, but i'm pretty sure due to his recent record he cant get a discount anyway. so we dont lose anything by challenging it.

IMO it consitutes a spear which means he'll be looking at 3 weeks holidays before the run in to finals. Short of doing a craigy and trying to change the way he plays, surely we need to be workking on his technique because the way he tackles is no longer acceptable in the AFL rightly or wrongly. I think he was even done in the SANFL for something similar last year.

Serious???

All they can do is get 4 weeks back to 3,or 3 back to 2.

Hes DUMPED him on his HEAD.

You know the object that is connected to your arms?

Well, this is not your head. It is called your shoulder.

That was the object that hit the ground. No case to answer.

My concern is he will do this crap the week before the finals or in the first final.

Wishfull thinking. The bottom line is he DID NOT HAVE TO dump him on the gound. He has picked him up,thats fine but then he dumps him.

Needs to pull his head in.

Keep clutching at those straws to get him removed from the side. You don't like him, now he performing you can not whinge about his defensive pressure. Now you have to find different avenues to bitch about.

Removed from the side???I dont like him???

Where have i said that.He is one of our top forwards i dont want him drinking in the stands i want him kicking goals.

Whos bitching just facing reality he is treading a fine line with to much agression. There was no need to dump him after completing the perfect tackle.

Don't play silly. I don't have the memory of a gold fish and know who you are.

Instead of speaking only about what you think you saw, let us focus on what Tex displayed in evidence, to show he has learnt his lesson.

He "put" Morris down. He didn't drive him into the turf like he did Taylor. If he wanted to, he could have sent the young man off with a concussion and a spinal injury. He turned him slightly, put him on his shoulder, and the impact was low. Terrific tackle, I agree with Sando. The kid has learnt.

The muppets will probably still slap him with a punishment, but he shouldn't attract anything imo.

Who am i.???? Please tell.

You mean this alias or your alternative one?

The one that lost a bet regarding Neil Craig and then didn't lost for a few weeks?

Yeah, that one. That's the one that doesn't like Tex and has made it very known to everyone.

Stop playing silly buggers.

I reckon Walker is in trouble, sadly. Great player, doesn't need to do that sort of stuff.
Sadly, there will eb eyes everywhere on this incident as a result of the jake King rubbish from last season.
I hear quite a few people using the word 'evidence' ... the 'evidence' last year against Kingy was flimsy at best, he still copped a suspension.
Congrats on the win!
