Dane Swan had post-season wrist surgery and got back into ball work early this month, but has been able to run before then. Nathan Brown (shoulder and knee) also had minor surgery but was back in training before Christmas. Alan Toovey has done everything right on return from his ACL and could be available for round one. Clinton Young had a light load prior to Christmas, while the Pies are being similarly cautious with Alex Fasolo’s recovery from his navicular bone injury. Jarrod Witts and Ben Sinclair are both three months removed from shoulder reconstructions and are in line to play either NAB 1 or 2, as is Marty Clark, who had an ankle reconstruction. Brisbane recruit Patrick Karnezis has been put on light duties as he tries to overcome a nagging groin injury.

Does anyone else feel that we seem to have quite a few
Injury concerns this preseason :

Swan
Fasolo
Patrick
Clark
Witts
Ben
Nathan Brown
Toovey
Broomhead
Mathew Scharenberg

Just to name a few, seems a bit of a worry.

Many of them are recovering from post-season surgery. Apart from Broomhead, I don't think anyone has picked up a new injury. And from what I can tell, all but Scharenberg and Karnezis have hit the track. Reckon we're doing okay.

Nope. Touch wood compared to the past two pre-seasons we're going ok. Apart from Broomhead all of them are carry over injuries from 2013.

No freshies means the bulk of the list has got a full pre-season in.

I'm actually really cautiously optimistic about this injury list, everything is either minor or rehab from 2013. It appears we'll have our best 22 available early in the season which we haven't had since around '10.

Touch wood of course.

So far so good, some of the other clubs are racking up the injuries, if we are going to get them it'll now when the training hots up in readiness for NAB.

Too right, don't want to jinx it, but Krakour and Macaffer both did their knees in the practise match and Luke Ball did his in Rd 3. It doesn't take much for your promising injury list or lack of to turn into devastation these days.

Positive side is we have so much depth this year that almost every single player on our list is replaceable. Even Cloke has Lynch if we are really desperate.

Broomy is fine..
