Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Hmmmm. Murphy.

I recall a couple of posters saying basically I was off with the fairies suggesting Murphy would be available at our 2nd.

Maybe they can let us know how the fairies are travelling tonight.;);)

ZZ, Cooper Simpson or Murphy is my call for our pick 30.
Simpson for mine. He won't be there at our next pick.

From the West:

"O’Brien said the Eagles would re-assess overnight before deciding who they will draft, with a chance to split pick No.30 if a club looks for someone who they desperately want to kick start the second round.

“There’s a number of players there we think fit into our thinking,” O’Brien said.

“We had that first pick last year as well and we’ll potentially get some offers, like we did with the Harley stuff. We’ll weigh it up against our order and see what the outcome is.”"

---------------------
We tried to get in earlier but no one was biting to trade out and wanted to still have a presence in the draft.

Murphy is the logical selection but is not a sexy pick.
Despite having a far better season than Moir (or Collard) he is primarily a shut down defender. And an exceptionally good one.
He is 200cm, just needs to put on the muscle at this point.
Put him with the Ginbey's as a host family.

May have dodged a bullet in a ways.

Probably will take a mid like C.Simpson now, or defender in O.Murphy; both of which are arguably of greater need than Collard / Moir.
Both better than I had expected to be available.

Hastie or Freijah might make it to our next pick if we're lucky.

This will sound a weird thing to say: but massive ****en kudos to the recruitment team for doing nothing. I'm personally relieved we didn't overreach for Curtin. Moir and Collard are disappointments to be sure, but sometimes the hardest thing in the world to do in high pressure situations that take place over long periods of months, like this, is to hold your nerve and stick to a plan. Congratulations to the team.

Players remaining of interest.

Roberts
Koen Sanchez.
ZZ
Cooper Simpson
Jai Freijah
Murphy
Hall

Who else?

Feel we should go Sanchez or Simpson.

Then hope 1 of ZZ or Murphy are there at 42ish.
My preferences are:
1. Ollie Murphy
2. Cooper Simpson
3. Logan Morris
4. Angus Hastie

If we're prepared to be patient then Archer Reid is the pick, but I don't think a project key forward is the best use of our next pick.

From now on WC needs to be a bunch of Kent’s to everyone, because being a nice guy achieves nought.

Do a Sydney and bid on anyone you take a shine too, start having lunch meetings with every interstate WA kids (starting with Curtain and Collard next week) and start picking off Freo next gens starting with M.Edwards.

Finally, sense.

Are you lost?

Given how I thought I was in the minority for Moir, especially at our second, there sure is a lot of disappointment here.

The way I see it is some dudes went way high. Oscar Ryan for example. This creates opportunity in places of genuine need.

I was on the Moir Train. Collard also would’ve been good but I’m convinced the go home factor is real there.

Now? Whichever of Murphy or Schoenmakers is left unless we trade down for mine. Simpson sounds a good get from his profile though I’m not familiar with him.

George Stevens would also be a winner but he might be there for our next.
