AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
33, 39 & 41 is 1421 points, equivalent to pick 10. Lions have Ashcroft and Marshall that they need to match bids on. By not taking their 2024 R1 pick it puts them in position to match both this year, but we get rewarded for helping them do that.Wut? Why would they do that? They need points this year. Even if they didnt, that's a horrific deal for Lions.
If we trade pick one it will be the end of Blair.
If I were Norf and Richmond took FOS at 1, I'd be bidding on both Ashcroft and Lombard at 2. Lombard is as good or better than Draper.
If Norf didn't do it, good chance West Coast would given they're one of the most vocal critics of the Northern academies, and that Lombard would suit them to a tee.
After last year's haul I don't think any clubs are keen for the Suns to pay unders again.
If Bolton asks for a trade for family reasons, we won’t be keeping him imo. And I agree we should release him, but….. cost needs to be high for the suitor as his talent is off the charts, especially in a good side.
Will be interesting to see what Blair manages to extract for not only Shai if he’s traded, but any of the others potentially seeking new pastures.
Apparently these are our targets
As Richmond moves forward, the integration of new talent will be essential to their ambitions. The team is expected to make strategic moves that align with their long-term goals, ensuring a competitive edge in future seasons.
- Jai Culley (West Coast Eagles): Known for his strong presence on the field, Culley could be a valuable addition to Richmond’s midfield.
- Elijah Tsatas (Essendon): A rising star, Tsatas could provide the Tigers with much-needed dynamism and skill.
- Dan Houston (Port Adelaide): Houston’s defensive capabilities and versatility make him a strong candidate to reinforce Richmond’s backline.
- Will Phillips (North Melbourne): Phillips brings a blend of speed and agility that could enhance Richmond’s midfield options.
- Ash Johnson (Collingwood): Johnson’s goal-scoring ability and athleticism could significantly boost Richmond’s forward line.
5 and 12 or gtfo we owe them nothingDimma ain’t gonna sit back and allow his team to be sh*te again in 2025. He will sell the farm even more than ever for Rioli.
If push for their pick-12 and a F1, with us handing back a F3. They are not giving pick-5 as Lombard won’t be bid on before that.
Guarantees us a great draft hand next year and we will get a very highly rated kid at 12 this year.
12 and a F1 is huge overs for a 28yo.

They have been a failure imo, they were brought in to propel us back into the top 4 and contend for a premiership. We misjudged the list and they have instead slowed the rebuild and delayed the regeneration and bottoming out process by 2 yearsTaranto won the Jack Dyer Medal in his debut season at the club; I would not class Taranto as an unsuccessful acquisition.
The jury is out for Hopper, 2025 will be the make-or-break season, with the departures of Rioli, Bolton and Baker.
Yeah but their 1st round pick this year would just get eaten up matching a bid anyway. Why would they effectively lose 2x 1st round picks when they could just trade this year's for enough points and keep next years?33, 39 & 41 is 1421 points, equivalent to pick 10. There is a standout. If there is no clear cut #1 then why care if we trade #1 when we are seemingly as good a chance to get the better player at #5 as we are at #1 - and in fact may get our first preference at #5 anyway …. If we can parlay #1 into 5 and another first rounder this year or next I’d suggest this year seems the perfect year to do it.
#1 has no value if there is a blanket over the first half dozen picks.

You get Finn O’SullivanI don't necessarily share your view on pick 1. That part depends on what you get in return.
They need points to match Ashcroft and Marshall of they go into deficit next year, so we make the deal that gets them points that allows them to match both and get to add another R1 pick for 2025, while having up to half a dozen this year already.Yeah but their 1st round pick this year would just get eaten up matching a bid anyway. There's no Harley Reid, but this statement just isn't true.
because there is a clear cut 1 and 2 etc.., it is just BS
Our recruiters would know.Who is the clear cut #1 and clear cut #2?

I'd say we'll just give them enough points so they don't go into deficit for their first pick this year though? We can always do a live trade on the night to get them Marshall points depending where the bid comes in.They need points to match Ashcroft and Marshall of they go into deficit next year, so we make the deal that gets them points that allows them to match both and get to add another R1 pick for 2025, while having up to half a dozen this year already.
What did freo get for schultz?
To do live trades we need to have enough list spots open to take those late picks into the draft. Before the draft we don't need to have those spots available, so trade them early and get the deal done. Lions will lose that 2025 first pick of they don't have enough points to match, so we get on the front foot and target that pick.I'd say we'll just give them enough points so they don't go into deficit for their first pick this year though? No chance Lions give up a F1 for the sake of matching Marshall IMO.
Please apply for the Bombers list manager role. You'll keep them out of the finals for anther 20 years.Current picks 1, 21, 33, 39, 41, 51, 57, 65, 73
Graham to WCE for band 3 compo = 22
33, 39 & 41 to Brisbane for 2025 R1 pick
Rioli to Suns for 5, straight up. Daniel isn't worth pick 5 but given he is contracted until 2027 that's the price is the Suns want him, take it or leave it.
Baker to WCE for 2024 & 2025 R2 picks = 23(2024) & 19-22 range for 2025
Bolton to Fremantle for 9 & 13. Understand that people want 3 R1 picks, but no club is going to give up 3 picks for him. Take the 2 R1 picks and move on especially if he doesn't want to be here.
Trade 51, 57 65 & 73 to a club needing points to match a bid in the 30s like Carlton or Adelaide
Head to draft with 1, 5(?), 9, 13, 21, 22 & 23, plus our 2025 R1, Brisbane 2025 R1, our 2025 R2, WCE 2025 R2.
First time I’ve agreed with you ,,,,we keep on telling GC to gagf until they cough up we know they desperately want him, and we also know how much they’ve cornholed sides when they’ve had whip hand ,,,for uncontracted players I might add , prestia and o mearaPlease apply for the Bombers list manager role. Its our turn to be campaigners in trade week and we absolutely should be.
5 is not enough for Rioli
x2 2nd rounders not enough for Baker; and
Its x3 1st rounders for Bolton and the Graham compo back.
Trade points for Brisbane's 1st rounder.
We end up with 8 1st rounders. We then trade our 1st pick in the 2nd round for a 1st rounder next year.
Respectfully disagree, and whilst Hopper has been hampered by injury I reckon there’s decent footy ahead of we get our fitness regime sorted. And who would have you taken instead? Noting that the last few drafts since covid have been sub standard, particularly in the range that we would have access to, due to the interrupted development pathways and apart from Weddle I see no better outcomes - happy to be corrected. They have been a failure imo, they were brought in to propel us back into the top 4 and contend for a premiership. They paid pick 2 for Lachie Weller FFS. We should get x2 top 10s for Rioli in that caseFirst time I’ve agreed with you ,,,,we keep on telling GC to gagf until they cough up we know they desperately want him, and we also know how much they’ve cornholed sides when they’ve had whip hand ,,,for uncontracted players I might add , prestia and o meara
