Peanuts ? Tom Green is the BEST young midfielder in the competition. For some reason BF posters don’t seem to appreciate the 10-year … yes, 10-year … age gap is not going to be a major factor in negotiations.

So to suggest we’d get Green (10 years of guaranteed top-line footy) plus a first rounder (12 years of likely top-line footy) for Dusty (4 years of elite footy) is not realistic.

Yes it is , coz he’s CONTRACTED, the examples I provided were in fact for uncontracted players. Dusty is the greatest player this century and you think we d settle for a sec rate offer less than what these two bit bums I mentioned previously attracted . The starting price would be
Tom green + Taranto plus next years R1

You are overlooking the possibility of Richmond paying a large chunk of Dusty’s wage in the event he goes to GWS, in order to facilitate a deal well in Richmond’s favour of course.

That would need to be a seismic deal from the other party that most have dismissed that they haven’t the Aggots

Your neglecting the commercial aspect of what Dusty would bring to GWS.
If Dusty requests it.Gil wouldn't be on the phone quick enough to get the deal done.
Dusty would be too the Giants as what Lockett was to the Swans.
We'd have to pay some of Dustys wage so what percentage will depend what the Giants offer.
I'd pay 1mil if it nets us Green & their 1st.
Get Green for 500k for 2yrs and its break even.

Let me start by saying Dustin Martin is the best player I’ve seen and I pray he remains a Tiger for life. But it’s fanciful to think GWS are giving up their best player and a lock to be a star for at least a decade AND a top-10 pick for a 31yo Dustin Martin.

They wouldn’t even entertain a straight swap.

If it was to be requested I think to be realistic would be Martin plus us paying $500k of his $1.3m salary for 2-years and a 2nd rounder for Green.

It would be a deal that favours GWS from 2023-2024, then Richmond from 2025 until when Green retires (2033?)…

Do you barrack for lolnorf? Sounds like one of their trade scenarios for CCJ last year.

GWS would sell the farm for a player like Martin (they paid Folau $1mil a year FFS) and we should accept nothing less than the farm from a plastic club with AFL coin and no soul.

It is not stupid to pay a player to play for another team if the benefits outweigh the price. Richmond has already done this when we cleared Lids out and got a good draft pick.

We certainly did and we are no longer in that position we were in back then and hopefully wont be back there again
Top clubs dont do that only clubs that dont have a proper list management resort to these stupid actions.

Ive got to agree Green is very very slow and this worries me to a degree but then i see his numbers and his effect on the game and he looks great.

I think Greene is more a midfielder than a forward. He does some lateral eccentric moves that draw attention but really he is getting older and does not represent a real point of difference. If I was GWS I would trade him out though

If I was to get one player from GWS it would be Lachie Ash in terms of going forward. I only realised the other day he is 186cm because he looks shorter in terms of a build but that is good if he has that height and is proficient like he is at ground level
