If Dusty wanted to go I would consider a straight swap for Greene if GWS was paying the full Dusty salary.

Need to be pragmatic about it - Dusty is on the decline, the club probably can't win another premiership, and he is getting paid BIG money. We would be better off with a guaranteed 10-year inside midfielder at this stage and TBH Dusty might just prefer living in a quieter city.

The idea that we would secure first round picks + Dusty whilst dropping large parts of his salary is quite silly and optimistic IMO.

What your failing too understand is both Sydney clubs can't fit Dusty in their cap as his current contract stands.
What your failing too understand weather we pay Dusty to play for us or with another club won't effect us one little bit for 23/24 when his contact runs out.
If he goes we get the best possible deal.What that deal is anyone's guess on here but it's not as though the club is run by turkeys these days.

• If Dusty wants to go to sydney
• He is then requesting to break a contract to leave
• He is also then ready to relinquish his current contract and except what deal is then put in front of him by the new club
• The new club then needs to satisfy Richmond with a trade

You cant have a player wanting to move for his own personal needs/wants yet demand the lucrative deal he is currently on and if thats his wish then its upto him to arrange that with the new club and we should not be disadvantaged due to this.

The only way northern clubs could go even close to accomodating is like a 4mn deal over 4y ,,,good for them not so for dusty , if he earns 2.8 in next 2 contracted years , means next 2 are at 600 ,, he might say ok that’s cool , may be not . Dollars are a HUGE impediment and if we were asked to potentially subsidise it would need to be seismic. In your speak if we offered a million , Id expect
Tom green plus Taranto plus r1 x 2 ,,,,then we give back a r2

I don't believe he is going anywhere at all but its not beyond the realms of possibility that Dusty would drop his playing contract by 200-300k a year, with the AFL topping him up with a similar amount for "promotional duties" up there. If Richmond were then prepared to cover 200-300k as well then it starts looking very achievable under the GWS Cap. Richmond would consider this if the deal was juicy enough. Don't underestimate the lengths the AFL will go to in order to help the expansion clubs. If they want him in Western Sydney then money will not be what stops the deal.

Could just be the deal that mends a few bridges between our club and head office also...

If I was to get one player from GWS it would be Lachie Ash in terms of going forward. I only realised the other day he is 186cm because he looks shorter in terms of a build but that is good if he has that height and is proficient like he is at ground level

No chance of getting him, but I'd take Cumming in a heartbeat, great size, one of the best ball users in the comp, pushed Whitfield out of his role and he's still only played 42 games.

Absolutely rare Cumming but doesn't really fit a need in our list with a pretty settled half back line atm and a few guys developing well in Ralphsmith, Banks and Brown
