With where the Pies are at I reckon they’d happily let him go. Grundy is 29yo start of 2023. Moore
is 27yo. DeGoey will be 27yo. They wouldn’t want $2.7m or thereabouts tied up in those 3 for the next 5-years…. greatly hampers any chance of getting free agents in 2-3 years time.

If the Pies finish bottom-5 then DeGoey compo would give them picks 5 & 6 in the draft. I’d then look to trade out another of their 27yo+ players with value … maybe Howe, Adams or Elliott? Could get a couple of second rounders.

They desperately need that as a lot of their youngsters have huge question marks from what I’ve seen thus far.

Pretty good feeling it would be Broad, makes the most sense given his recent engagement party in WA
Both he and his future wife are from WA and would make sense they want to start the next phase of their life around friends and family

Baker is still a young buck who I can’t imagine would have a huge calling to return home

We've drafted well with the likes of Baker, Broad and McIntosh - they might be Western Australians, but Perth is certainly not where there homes are.

Yes, I’ll admit I thought he was perhaps 30 and turning 31yo in 2023, capable of getting them a pick around 30 given he’s an excellent defender. Cats gave pick-32 for Higgins so anything’s possible….. Carlton or Dogs would be keen if they are in the sweet spot for a flag. But at that age the horse has probably bolted.

If given the choice from our list Broad would be a great player to leave. He turns 30yo start of 2023, so just young enough to get us a handy draft pick and helps with our transition to a younger list profile. Frees up $350-400k from our cap. And whilst I rate Broad I feel we have coverage given Vlastuin, Grimes and Gibcus have shown ability to take talls and smalls.

Gibbs wasn’t worth two first rounders, that was the issue crows dramatically over paid for him and it’s widely known

Using that as a baseline is a mistake because Sydney nor GWS will make the same mistake the crows did

If he wants to go, it would be on him to negotiate with his next club. If he and them were far apart that would be our opportunity to step in and eat some cap space for a better pick or player etc. but if he wants out I don’t see his contract being a problem, not like if he was being pushed or was a free agent like Lynch.

I am not sure there has ever been a harder player to place a trade value on than Dusty.

I have seen Ablett used a comparison at a similar age but he wasnt playing anywhere near the level of Dusty and his shoulders were farked.

Reality is, you aint taking Dusty unless you think he is the difference between a flag or not. So that said, the team that wants him would pay handsomely.

GWS - Probably Taranto or similar, not Green although that would be nice.

Sydney - Top 10 pick

Also his current contract would be torn up, not transferred.
