Honestly, if Dusty leaves it would suck but if that's what he wants it could really set us up for the next Richmond side.

What would we realistically expect in a trade from Sydney? A player or two plus a really good draft pick? Player like Dylan Stephens potentially as steak knives?

Then we should look to get in Matt Crouch and Tim Taranto.

We'd have a pretty decent side next year.

I would have no issue with Tarryn Thomas and he is 100% a classy talent which you can never have enough of
the only thing that would be a concern is if there are Chris Yarran 'Type' issue's

The relevance is just because someone is available doesn't mean they must be sought after - you brought up Brodie, not me.

M Crouch is good at the contest, not disputing that but he's pretty much useless once the ball leaves the stoppage.

Nank would cover the ground better than him and probably beat him for pace.
That’s called being a first hands distributor, we need one. We wouldn’t be recruiting him to play pickets role , it’s to W that crucial cbd clearance and get it out to our runners before the oppo does EG Atkins wins crucial clearance cats W game , too bloody easy

Only if he was a bargain and you’d find he likely being paid 600+ which we wouldn’t value him at , you doubt it ,, who else the Roos paying the bux

I’m all for it. The talent is not in question. Maybe playing for a proper club will help.

Him on form would solve a lot of our midfield issues and he’s young. Would love him learning off Dusty for a few years

Would also be a nice little f/you to north. If you’re going to target our players we will target yours.
Would be hilarious if we got him for CCJ pick 🤣🤣

If he wants to leave and has 2 years at $600k left on his contract then he will be open to renegotiating a new deal
3 years at $1.5 or 4 years at $2 mil

If your not happy and want to leave taking a 100k hair cut pre tax is not a great deal

Have you watched Dylan Stephens play AFL? We'd be making Sydney better for taking him off their books. If he wasn't drafted high, you'd think he was Jake Aarts given what he's shown in 3 years.

If we're trading an all time great, why are we even discussing VFL and SANFL players?

I'm not being negative for the sake of being negative but you'd want a guaranteed return for Dusty - not a speculative pick or player.

Matt Crouch & Dylan Stephens types should be lumped in with the Paddy Dow hypotheticals where you're giving up a 4th round pick and that's it.

Any Dusty trade is top tier compensation, not average player + steak knives in the hope you might turn it into a good deal. You don't trade a prized commodity for a speculative stock.

I’m going to get absolutely slaughtered for this, but I don’t think Dusty value is anywhere near as high as fans think it is.

32 years old next year, making $1.2m per year (and taking up a large % of a teams cap), he hasn’t been vintage Dusty for two years (injury’s + father a reason why, but still opposition teams will still have questions), plus the questions on his mental state.

Think teams will peg his value on par with Gary Ablett Jr returning to Geelong from Gold Coast where they gave up GAJ, a second round pick and a future 4th and received a first round pick and a future second round pick.

Dusty’s half on Sunday was scintillating however that’s fairly limited form
I’ve said all along that the impediment to a mooted deal is his perceived value given age profile relative to his pay

Why pick up trash for a rolls royce? If Sydney want to salary dump players they are supposed to give us something.

Dusty has a separate valuation
The last load of trash we picked up from Sydney was their 4th string ruckman. Would have loved what you had said about that deal at the time.

If Dusty wants to go to Sydney then you don't play hardball and make him stay unless you get 2 1st rounders. That's Dodo territory. You get what you can that is fair and reasonable but also helps you take the next step in your progression. Seeing how Amartey and McLean look playing in the firsts they would comfortably get a late 2nd and be an upgrade on Ryan and Colina.

He wasn't as good as Cotchin.

Of course, we all remember his wonderful 37-possession grand final in a team that lost by 8 goals - oh, wait, no we don't, we remember him getting tackled and that's it BECAUSE HE'S A CRAB whose possessions do no damage.

No he's not.

He's a better clearance player though.
Take out Martin, lambert, Cotchin, Prestia… how many of our remaining mids are better than him?

If you are talking about Nankervis he was never trash. He was a young up and comer and a ruck prospect. Did most think he would do what he did when at Richmond. Probably not but Nank was a genuine ruck. Amartey and McLean are inbetweeners

Swans are pretty switched on with their rucks although Hickey I think is overrated

McLean and Amartey simply are not good enough

Why are you trying to push Dusty out the door?? Do you work for the Swans?
