The Hawks will lose any free agency pick for Gunston because they are bringing in Amon as a free agent.

I would hope there isn’t a “Lambert role”. Our turnaround in 2017 was heavily based on utilising the talents possessed by players rather than continue to shoehorn people into an existing template.

Sounded like Balmey was influential there. We need to stick to that. Shape the plan around what we have at our disposal.

Do you honestly think clubs are that dumb? Why would Brisbane use free agency on Gunston and dilute their compo when they can easily throw a token pick to Hawthorn - who themselves want to protect their compo? You know, exactly like Richmond did with Tarrant to protect the Chol compo.

Collingwood will just match the DeGoey bid and force a trade to get a better return.

I think you underestimate the amount of analytics and work list managers do and liaise with each other to protect the net turn for all parties. Despite the odd exception to the rule, they're not in the business of sabotage - it's the exact opposite - their most important asset a healthy rapport.
