Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

None. I never said there were any.

You probably need to read my post in the context i wrote it before commenting. I was responding to another poster claiming that there is a lot to be optimistic about re our roster and I commented with reasons why there is not a lot of reasoning to believe our 2024 will be better than our 2023. I was just pointing out that considering we are losing hall of famers, have only 1 half decent draft pick & have no big name free agents incoming.... the only people who are optimistic about our 2024 chances tends to be massive homers.

I 100% guarantee you that if we kept our 2023 1st rounder this year we would have had access to someone better than Hopper. I find it hard to believe that out the 100+ kids on offer this year that there wont be 6 players better than him, overall. I'm not even sure if Hopper makes the top 30 midfielders in the league, or even 50 based on this season. We gave up pick 6 + pick 31 for him - there will definitely be players available in this draft & likely even some taken 31 and after in 2022 that will end up better than him.
No draft in history has been that s**t that those 2 picks covering 2 drafts would not get you a genuine crack at a player of Hoppers quality.

It’s funny how you just assume there are loads of players each draft superior to Hopper - but everyone only remembers the ‘good ones’… here is every pick-6 dating back to 1991 … how many ‘hand on heart’ were superior players to Hopper:

1991: Paul Burton - Swans
1992: Robert Pyman - Roos
1993: Trent Cummings - Lions
1994: Robert McMahon - Lions
1995: Daniel Healy - Saints
1996 : Rombotis - Power
1997 : James Walker - Dockers
1998 : Murray Vance - Blues
1999: Cupido - Lions
2000: Dylan Smith - Roos
2001: Sampi
2002: Salopek
2003: Kepler Bradley
2004: Tom Williams
2005; Beau Dowler
2006: Mitch Thorp
2007: David Myers
2008: Yarran
2009: Rohan
2010: Conca
2011: Wingard
2012: Macrae
2013: Scharenberg
2014: Marchbank
2015: Aaron Francis
2016: Sam Petreski Seton
2017: Stephenson
2018: Ben King
2019: McAsey
2020: Denver GB
2021: Rachele
2022; Humphrey

So there’s 32 number 6 picks since 1991. How many would you rate superior to Hopper? Any talk that we’d have nailed a superior player etc… is just absolute BS. Yes there’ll be better players available, but that’s always assessed in hindsight. We’ve got a very good player, superior to 90% of the pick 6’s in history. Let’s support him and give him a chance as we’ve got zero idea if we’d have nailed pick-6 anyway … it’s an inexact science that can’t be more clear from the list above.

I could be mistaken, but if you trade out a F 1st (as Port have done), then you can't trade your other future picks, unless you get another F back in the same round.

So to make it work, we would need to be swapping F 2nd, rather than Port giving their F 2nd only.
Port have their F2nd

Feel a bit disappointed that Duursmahas chosen Essendon. He has his flaws but he have a genuine upside & we could do with options on our wings & most of all speed. At times we look bloody slow & this guy has actually SHOWN some legitimate upside past on previous form. With the Soldo interest i think a deal could have been done. There is a good argument that we need a player in Soldo's position far more than Duursma atm, but i think when considering longer term thinkings, Duursma was the better choice.

It will be interesting to consider who we would prefer more come round 15 2024 - Soldo or Duursma. Will definitely be something i watch. He is the type of player/age we really need to target
What the f* have Essendon achieved to become a destination club this trade period? Something smells fishy… maybe some brown bags of cash being handed under the table

Dusty's mates with Ginnivan. We should pounce now they're getting Schultz. Being a d@ckhead aside. Sad fact is he's an upgrade on all our small forwards. I have zero faith that MRJ and Mansell and possibly ever Coulthard will do anything next year. Have hopes for Judson but he's groomed to play Lambert's old role.

We need blokes who can actually kick goals. You don't win an ANZAC day medal as a 20yo if you're not a matchwinner. Has MRJ ever been in the top 12 players in a single game?
Didn't Dean Polo win the indigenous award on debut or something?

Soldo + pick 66 to Port for Freo's F 2nd and pick 39
Biggy to Norf for pick 63
Pick 48 to Hawthorn for Kosi

Go to the draft with 27, 39, 63 and F2 (Freo)

I don't know if Soldo is worth a future 2nd which is potentially quite tasty + an early third upgraded from the 60's. Seems ambitious to me, but if he indeed in higher demand than that, we should possibly cash in while we have such a lull in assets. I'm still very much on the fence with Soldo. Around the ground he has become a liability but he showed some promise as a resting forward, his marking and body strength has really improved, but he still has clear limitations.

i doubt Nth give us 63 for Biggy unless they legit dont think they will use it. I reckon we could possibly trade 66 + Biggy for 63 + a 5th rounder if we need it

48 for Kosi works for me, but the Hawks will possibly request more & if they mean it we haven't got much more to give them outside of pick spot upgrades etc. I'd be shocked if that deal doesn't get done without much issues, his value seems very clear

Move on FFS, the Hopper deal is history now all the whinging and whining won’t change a thing. Real supporters will just get behind Hopper in the hope he gets back to his best which is bloody good. Even if he doesn’t there is nothing we can do about it.

Ancient history? the draft picks we traded haven't even been used yet :joycat: And im pretty positive I didn't actually bring this up - you did you demented munter. As i literally just wrote, i was talking about our overall prospect for 2024 vs 2023. Why you yellin at me about Hopper?

I thought we shockingly under performed. Our game plan didn’t get the best out of our midfield and our captains were amongst our worst performers.

Dimma leaving was a blessing and I think we dodged a bullet passing on McQualter. We’ve stuck with an outdated game plan for 3 years now and haven’t followed the way the game has evolved.

I think we can rebound fairly quickly, but we need to move on from some fringe talent and try to fill those spots with speed.

I agree with all of that re gameplan & the change required, but hope in Yze is still somewhat blind, he is fairly unknown as a coach & we both could agree on that. When that is the case, sometimes you get Fly, other times David Nobel. I am quietly positive that Yze can get our gameplan back on track, but history shows us transition from a genuine dynasty to a new regime can be bumpy & thats just what im expecting. Happy to be proven wrong & be patient - a top 3 pick in next years draft would not be a bad thing.

I think losing Jack & Trent is a bigger deal to our short term results, i think that is a massive core of your leadership not being replaced with anything & Jack especially is a big loss, especially with Lynch still on the road to recovery/form. There are a lot of tough challenges facing this group. I think Grimes down back is potentially an equally big hole waiting to happen, as his form really fell away too. If his form continued to make him unplayable, i am not sure that backline will hold together. Who will be the general? We need Grimes to turn back the clock and have a big year

I would be going after Tom Hawkins we were willing to give another year to Jack if he wanted it.
and the Tomahawk is in much better form.

I'm really worried about our forward line especially if we can't get in Koschitzke because Hawthorn want way overs.

y do u want to lament another 2-3 years with Nank? ,the least influential ruckman in the league & slowest mid we have on the list
hes stifling our progress in there, his 1 wood is his tackling, thats it,thats his trick, thats all hes got

I'd rather Chol back for a third rounder than give pick 27 to Hawks for Kosi, I wouldn't want Chol for 4 years though

Hawks have lost the plot on both these trades. They want a pick around 25 for Kosi but only want to pay a third rounder for Chol but have offered him four years.
