Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

Yes they do need points but the trading of 1st rounders really needs the club to double their points coming in to consider trading out the 1st rounder

This is where Morro suggestion of even offering up our mid 20s picks comes into the equation. Our picks 25, 26, 39, 42 & 43 as they currently stand are enough for pick 2 in the draft. Splitting them up could net us the first round picks of both Carlton & Brisbane depending on how the year unfolds. Entering the draft with our own top 10 pick(likely) and 2 other R1 picks is not that unlikely.

not to mention picks 25 & 26 could easily get us pick in the teens. I would be looking for quality of quantity.

2 x 1st rounders minimum should be the goal, but 3 is not unrealistic.
Imagine the melts if we win the flag and have 3 first rounders in the draft

Looking over the list of available free agents this year that would be worth chasing, McCluggage & English would be the only ones I'd be chasing, I can't see us getting too involved in free agency. In fact looking at the list of players who are even coming out of contract this year, there isn't a lot that jumps out as being players that you go all out for. There are a few that if they asked for a trade you'd take, but nobody at the moment that you'd throw the farm at.

Hopefully that means that our trading last year that netted us a raft of draft picks, means we're either planning on taking a bunch of kids in the draft of looking at packaging up picks to get better quality picks and add more talented youth to our list. For me that is what I'd prefer to see happen.

As it stands we hold 6, 25, 26, 39, 43, 44, 62, 70, 74 & 80. Packaging up 39, 43 & 44 would net us a late R1 pick which would then see us with 4 picks inside 30(on 2023 ladder positions). That would be a great way to kick start the reshaping of the list in the manner that Yze wants after having this season to take a good look at what he currently has to work with. Keep in mind that we also have the likes of Baker(pre free agency) & Graham(RFA) who could also add another couple of picks to that haul if both were to leave at seasons end.
English won’t leave to a Vic club , wc will offer heaven and earth leaving us for dead , and luggage loves bris has already said as much ,,well worth pushing price up tho to see what might shake loose

I think alot depends on his ability to become a bona fide mid this year also.

At this stage, he's a small utility, a very good HB, ok forward and a pinch hitting mid.

If he can become a very good mid, his value goes through the roof IMO.

I can't see Baker getting too many midfield opportunities. By all reports Dusty has been told he's back to play primarily midfield. Surely at full strength Dusty, Taranto and a primed Hopper are our mids. Next up Prestia. Then in the media all of Dow, Graham, Baker even Dan Rioli have said Yze has told them they're gonna be playing more midfield this year. Then we've got Ross and Sonsie, hell even Short.

Bakers proven versatile most of the rest aren't. I can see both of Baker and Broad going back to WA and they've played their 100 games both aren't FA so would be awesome to cash in players with currency getting a great return for once.

My preference is we raid the Draft, regardless of how we go this yr we'll have a great hand. To get any of the players from where you mention we'd have to overpay to get them across anyway. better to draft our own & develope them etc. If we can get another 5 in 30 type scenario in this yr we can almost complete the core group we started 3 yrs ago now.

Brisbane have Levi Ashcroft (rated top 5 currently) & Sam Marshall (rated top 25)
Adelaide have Tyler Welsh (rated top 5)
Suns have Leonardo Lombard (rated top 10) & Caleb Nancarrow (rated top 15)
Swans have Joe Harrison (rated top 10)
Carlton have Ben & Lucas Camporeale (both rated top 25)

So there are plenty of clubs that will require picks to bank points and we're in good position with our haul to be able to cash in.
Did somebody say bidding war?

Bake has trained mid all pre season and Yze has said he will play midfield, so we have to assume that's the case
Rioli will pinch hit on occasion so no biggy, Dusty will still spend alot of time forward, Prestia may or may not stay on the park.

Dusty, TT and Hopper is too slow IMO, need a better mix than those 3 together.

The only one i'd be interested in is Uber Hagan. He may fit the need pending the Balta up fwd experiment which way that goes. He'd cost us abit but he is of a need.

The kid is a talent, but I don't think he's a true number 1 KPF option who can lead a forward line. IMO he benefits & cashes in on Naughton taking a lot of heat off him, which often leaves him competing 1-1. On top of that the bidding war that will no doubt happen for him as the year goes on is not worth getting involved in at this stage of our list build. We're about to open up a heap of cap space as the likes of Martin Prestia & Lynch come to the end of the current deals. I'd like to use that to retain the players we've developed over the last 5-8 years and build some depth before we start making serious free agency plays

Thinking about it your right.Wouldn't pay at the price(2 1sts) for being a #2.Perfect timeframe in regards too the #1 target.Lynch retires in 2yrs.Sametime as King is OCC.
But this could be put to bed if Balta comes on.

Ainsworth
Battle
Zurhaar
Perryman
All FA Would all be worth throwing a line
Would love to shake Zurhaar loose. Our list doesn't have a 6'3" medium marking forward since Caddy retired. Plus he's hard at it with a bit of mongrel in him. He gets injured a bit but geez he can play when he's on. images (25).jpeg
