Perhaps …. Depends if jack actually wants go on another year
Listening to him on 360 last night I reckon he'd play on for sure if asked.

If we don't bring in a mature age kpf from another club I'd be okay giving him another year on bugger all money as long as he understands he won't be playing regular games.

Still think we should be looking at Lachie Gollant from Adelaide. Can't get past Tex, Fogarty and Thilthorpe at the moment which is no surprise. Kicked the lazy 6 in the SANFL this week. Effort definitely isn't his downfall. Good hands, good lead, good kick. Only 21 years old.
Gollant looks a very promising type. Great mark

We'd just keep jack wouldn't we?
This would not surprise me at all if it did eventuate and same with Trent

Both men have not ever acknowledged that this will be their last year and going by what Jack says he wants to go again but its upto the club to decide
but if offered another year i would be certain Jack says yes

I could see Jack hanging around if we didn't land another kpf but I reckon we already have replacements lining up for cotchs spot so he's gone for sure IMO.

At some point you gotta cut the strings and open up a spot , jack is nowhere near close enough to his best to warrant a thought about this , his opponent regularly kills us , credit to him for battling out the season , this year should see him out

Weird take. He's playing solo kpf against the oppos best defender every week and having it bombed on his head. Of course he's going to get killed. He's not prime Wayne Carey.

He'd be the perfect 2nd or 3rd target for us when Lynch is back next year.

Im going to compare 2 players with just 2024 season in mind

Its looking very likely that Thomson Dow just has too many deficiencies and will be lucky very lucky to be on the rochmond list in 2024 and with another season like 2023 has no chance to be on our list unless he does something so spectacular and breaks out with a massive year next year.

With that in mind which player offers Richmond more in 2024 as a backup
Thomson Dow or Jack Riewoldt

Lynch plays this entire season and we would be looking at this situation completely differently. Jack playing second fiddle to Lynch, with the chance to take games off to rest. he would of looked a hell of a lot more dangerous.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

Shows how incredibly important Lynch is to us. With him we would be top 4, without him we are struggling.

On the other hand it is giving Miller a lot of time to learn how to be a KPF. I reckon Ben is starting to look more like a KPF. Maybe he will start to actually produce as that genuine AFL KPF. Hope so. That would help us a lot.

Of course the wildcard is Gibcus. He has the talent to be elite. We;ll see.

Afl.com.au reporting that there is interest in dylan stephens from the Swans.

He'd compliment Hopper and Taranto nicely in the middle.

This buddy talk is cringe, for instances both him & jack are cooked
Buddy played 12 kicked 19 goals 13 - 9.9 disposals per game
Jack played 17 kicked 26 goals 22 - 9.2 disposals per game

There numbers are like identical for the amount of games they have played. we would just keep jack if we were desperate he knows our system.

You would replace Jack with Buddy?
They both continue at their own clubs one more year max.

neither for me. Riewoldt's output has been sub par, its a sadistic act of cruelty making him play each week. There'll be a class action in Geneva in UNHCR.

Well ideally we would replace jack with a good long term player …. But unfortunately there dosent seem to be many options at all atm ….. this is why I suggested a stop gap option for one year like buddy so it gives us time to find a long term replacement while still being competitive. Don’t think Bradke will be ready for a full season next year and while I like Bauer I’m not 100% sure if he’s a genuine kpf

Why wouldn’t we be exposing Bauer to that role or someone else we recruit off season , even when lynch was there r1 jacks oppo Lewis young murdered us , has been dropped recently fwiw , would be a dreadful decision to extend him further
